Dear Sangeetha

what a fitting tribute it would be if everyone imbibes what the little angel

niveditha achieved thru her deeds and not merely by words. let everyone try

to follow Baba's advice on the special day where it should not stop with

mere emotion at that particular moment. i for one who had the opportunity

to move with that family always remember the dedication and commitment they

have for Samratchana and thru Samratchana to Baba.

with my blessings to the noble soul and love to the rest of the family

>Dear all,

>

>Yesterday (May 25, 2000) was the death anniversary of Nivedita, our

>Samratchana sister who breathed her last at Thai paadam last year.

>

>Nivedita is Samratchana's pride ... one of those few who take on any

>type of work without flinching ... be it polishing chappals,

>collecting and washing plates, whitewashing, carpenting, cleaning the

>toilets, whatever be the nature of work , you can be rest assured

>there Nivedita would have been. A really enthusiastic person who took

>part in almost all of Samratchana culturals especially the golu theme

>during Navarathri. And her commitment to Samratchana and Baba was

>always total. Till the very end, she was bent on giving her best to

>Samratchana.

>

>Those of you to whom I had sent a mail last year on Nivedita's demise

>may recall ...

> The day before nature was to recall this girl back into its

>folds... That night the Samratchana team was taking rest at

>Malainambi Perumal temple. Nivedita, in that pitch darkness, observed

>one aunty shivering in the cold, in the opposite corner of the hall,

>silently walked over with her own shawl, covered that aunty and lay

>in the cold herself. This aunty did not know this action till the

>next day morning when she discovered Nivedita's shawl on her. What

>nobility.

>

>And that is what Baba wants us to imbibe ... care for everyone above

>yourself ... the only way we can revive Nivedita's memories is by

>striving to do unto others as we do unto ourselves and gradually care

>for everyone much more than we care for ourselves.

>

>That was the essence of Baba's speech yesterday - there is no use in

>remembering bygones, unless we imbibe and practise the lesson learnt.

>

>Let us start figuring out what it is that Baba wants from us, learn

>to be sensitive to other peoples' feelings and insecurities and start

>really caring for them. Let us not stop with just being overwhelmed

>for that particular moment when Baba speaks of such high emotion-

>tinged topics and then getting back to the beaten path.

>

>Let us utilize this golden opportunity to ask ourselves 'Are we

>really growing the way Baba wants us to grow, or are we being very

>mild with ourselves?'. And, if we do not ask this question harshly

>now to ourselves and learn to face bitter facts and mould ourselves

>from the answers, it might be too late tomorrow, even for regret.

>

>Love
