Plans to have elobarate details on Spirituality like - how it relates to science, perceptions of great spiritual leaders, Q & A, FAQs, Western Vs Eastern thinking, etc.. are being planned. Members of the Portal have email facilities, Groups (like ), greetings, daily news, periodicals, Sales of Some products, individual domain space and product selling options, ecom transactions, personalized settings, reminders, calendars, horoscopes, etc.. etc.. We are collecting information & have started the content-writing work. The work has been started off by 4 persons (2 - part-time) at Samratchana. Ms Karuna (contact smrtchna) is coordinating the development in ASP. Any suggestions, informations, photos, contents, exiting sites, or any other useful information are welcome. Sponsors for the portal are also welcome. Though, there are no sponsors today, we have gone ahead with the development. And when we are convinced of the design, we can get Baba's approval and launch the portal. Suggestions on how this site can be made really distinct and on the name of the domain to be registered can also be discussed at . I'm sure the best spiritual Site should be our's always. Guest guest Posted July 2, 2000 Report Share Posted July 2, 2000 SHANKARAM SHIVA SHANKARAM It is a very good idea to develop a portal on Spirituality where it can be proved that Spirituality is a science as real as any worldly science, our scriptures are true and if we follow them, we would would reap the fruits mentioned therein. Unfortunately our education system doesn't give much emphasis on the spiritual sciences and make it part of our basic education. So it would be nice if through this portal, we can bring out the greatness of our religion and have a section on the following: a) Sanathana Dharma, our scriptures (itihasas, upanishads, puranas), rituals, hindu philosophy - darshana and vedanta, b) Different schools of thought and a gist of how they integrate well with each other, and most importantly c) ethics - code of conduct and character that one should imbibe, exemplifying each trait with real life experiences if possible. For example, the brief on the life of Nivedita brought out the value of service. Likewise, from the life of Baba or other Mahamatmas, if we can illustrate the value of all virtues - humbleness, sacrifice, truth, etc. it will have a great impact on us and guide us in our day-to-day affairs where we might feel that we are " transgressing the code of conduct " .
