Guest guest
Saturday, August 5th 2000 1:00 pm : Jayadeva's Ashtapathi recital 5:30 pm : Radha beautifies herself in anticipation of Krishna's arrival (I am here talking of both Radha's statue as well as the Radhas of Samratchana. Well, all of us are Radhas, there is only one Krishna) 6:00 pm : The ladies walk ahead with seer plates to the place from where the Maapillai is starting 6:30 pm : Krishna('s statue) along with seer Varisai starts from a pillaiyar koil nearby (Kapaleeswarar Nagar, Neelankarai) Look at Krishna's enthusiasm and desire that makes him rush to be near His Lover Divine. See how fast He comes. Wow!! It is a long procession and the whole road is blocked by the Maapillai Oorvalam. (Poor me!! I missed this! I had to get ready for the Krishna Karnamrutham drama that we staged that day) 7:00 pm : Krishna enters Samratchana and is greeted by happy, shy (?!) Radha(s) 7:30 pm – Intellectual forum 9:00 pm 9:00 pm – Krishna Karnamrutham – Krishna Leela drama interspersed with dances 10:30 pm 10:30 pm Harathi 11:30 pm – Divya Naama Bhajan 4:00 am (Sunday) Sunday, August 6th 2000 9:00 am – 10:30 am – Oonchavrithi (this procession went to nearby areas too) 10:15 am - Baba's Daily Homam 10:30 am - Nalangu; Bhajans 11:30 am - Maangalya Dharanam – Union of Jeevathma and Paramaathma 11:30 am – 3:45 pm – rites associated with Wedding; Oonjal Vaibhavam; Anjaneyar Vazippadu HIGHLIGHTS: Baba has named our bhajan group : Sri Gnananandagiri Ghatotkacha Bhajan mandali. It so happened that on August 5th 2000, evening, the Sri Gnananandagiri bhajan mandali members arrived for a darshan of Baba and when they heard Sri Radha Kalyanam was taking place, they joined the bhajans. On Sunday, there was another troupe named Sri Krishna mandali which also incidentally arrived to take Baba's blessings in person and they also joined in. So a group of around 12 bhajan members became more than 30 that day. And Radha Krishna had a surprise poranthaathu seer sent for them by Venkatesan uncle's family.
