Guest guest
Brahman - The Infinite Supreme Cosmic Being The Rishis of ancient India called the Entity that did not change, behind all the things of the changing world as ' Brahman '. ( This term is different from the Varna System term 'Brahmin') Everything unfolds from The Brahman and goes back to Brahman Concepts of Brahman In the heart of all things, of whatever there is in the Universe, dwells the Lord; in the flash of the lightning or the wink of the eyes, the power is that of Brahman The Imperishable is Real ; Everything comes from the depths of the Imperishable; and again reach the depths of the Imperishable Self-luminous is that Being, formless, dwells within and without He is unborn, pure, without breath, without mind From Him are born breath, mind, the organs of the senses, ether, air, fire, water, earth, space, time & He combines them all He is the innermost Self of all, ever present in the hearts of all; He is beyond the ken of the senses, beyond the mind He is Greater than the Greatest; He is Immortal. In Him everything lives, moves and breathes. He is the Supreme Goal of Life Song of Silence That which cannot be expressed in words but by which the tongue speaks - know That to be Brahman. Brahman is not the being who is worshipped of men That which is not comprehended by the mind but by which the mind comprehends - know That to be the Brahman That which is not seen by the eye but by which the eye sees - know That to be Brahman That which is not heard by the ear but by which the ear hears - know That to be the Brahman That which is not drawn by the breath but by which the breath is drawn - know That to be the Brahman Brahman is not the being who is worshipped of men ' His Name IS Silence ' Thoughts on Brahman The Changeless Reality Filled with Brahman are the things we see Filled with Brahman are the things we see not From out of Brahman floweth all that is From Brahman comes all - yet he is still the same Different Thoughts on Brahman Ramanuja's Duality concept - The Universe and Brahman are not the same or identical. Sankara's Advaita concept - There is only Brahman. The Self is described as not this, not that. It is incomprehensible, undecaying, unattached, unbound. As rivers flow into the sea and in so doing lose name and form, even so the wise man, freed from name and form, attains the Supreme Being, the Self-Luminous, the Infinite Brahman. Madhava's Vishista-Advaita concept - Each of the above conceptions represent's a typical stage of the sage's mystical experiences on his way up or on his way down When one attains Samadhi ( transcendental consciousness ) then only comes to him the knowledge of the Brahman. Then only does he attain the vision of Brahman. In that ecstatic realization all thoughts cease. One becomes perfectly silent. There is no power of speech left by which to express Brahman. soutce;www.vedicfuture.com
