If you go into the history of Lord Ayyappa you find certain happenings in ramayana is repeated.Like lord Ayyappa being sent to forest to fetch Tiger's milk for his ailing mother.Sabari hills now was the place where sabari was given moksha in ramayana. Ayyapa on other hand is your Ayyanar which you find in almost all the villages.This Ayyanar is believed to be the saviour(Kaakum Kadavul).He will be with a sword in his hand.The Guru Pathavi for this kali yuga is held by Lord Ayyappa.I have through my penance received or attained Lord Ayyappan Siddhi.Hence iam Kalki as the priest rightly said i can only uphold Dharma in this detoriating kali yuga " .
