Dear All,

The cruise we have chosen is the Carnival Cruise

(http://www.carnival.com/) departing Miami on Saturday

November 3 at 4pm. This cruise is on their ship the

Imagination

This is a 5 day cruise

(http://www.carnival.com/Ships/itinerary.asp?sc=IM & itc=WC6 & dur=005)

that takes us to the Cayman Islands and Ocho Rios in

Jamaica and returns to Miami on Thursday November 8 at

8am.

Visa requirements are in the link below:

http://www.carnival.com/FAQ/FAQDetail.asp?Id=1

The Cayman Islands and Jamaica do not need visas for

Indian Nationals.

We have done some research on the internet and also by

visiting a few travel agents.

We found that the best deals are on the internet. We

are looking for the cheapest deals. Here is what we

found out.

The cabin can accomodate a maximum of 5 persons.

There are two beds in each cabin and two more bunk

beds that fold away above each of the beds (like the

railway berths in India). The ship will provide one

more roll-away bed for the 5th person. Here is how

the cabins look:

http://www.carnival.com/ships/cabins/HOcat4int.asp

The fares are as follows:

First and second person: $457.99 for each person

Third to fifth person: $267.99 per person

Total for 5 persons: $1719.95 (or about $344 per

person)

There are also cabins for 2 persons maximum at $417.99

for each person.

There is an additional $2 per person per day gratuity

that we must pay. Also, if we go on shore excursions,

we must pay for those separately (about $20 to $30 for

each of the two countries we are visiting).

At present there are definitely 5 persons who are

going (including Baba) and I will be booking one

cabin. You have all the information to book for

yourselves but if you want me to make bookings for

additional cabins, please let me know before Sunday

night. If we book together we may get cabins close to

each other.

We are booking the lowest priced cabins on the ship -

these are on the inside and do not have ocean view.

Since we will spend most of our time outside the

cabin, and we will need the cabins to sleep only, we

don't think this was a problem.

The Travelocity.com travel agent offered us a cabin

" upgrade " to a cabin with a porthole. We are looking

into this to see if it better than the cabins we are

normally assigned.

We are planning to book airfare separately. When we

book the cabins, we will find out when we must

" check-in " to the cruise but we should expect to be in

Miami no later than noon so we can make the 4 pm

departure. (There are no refunds if we miss it).

Please let me know if you have questions or

suggestions.

Love,

Monica
