Guest guest Posted February 15, 2002 Report Share Posted February 15, 2002 Baba's speech on Wednesday the 13th at Neelangarai: " We just returned this early morning from a small trip coveringKodikarai,Vedaranyam,Tiruvarur,Tiruvaiyaru,Upilliappan koil etc. There is a reason for going to all these sacred places.Every temple has its background,the murthy,the tree significance,the river significance etc. In Kodikarai on a Thai Ammavasai day we all had bath in the sea, it is considered that bathing here on this day will wash away all your sins.We all 40 of us from there went to Tiruvarur where " Musukunda Archanai " was done in " Mahodya Punya Kaalam " .This Archanai is done once in 12 years,for departed Atmas which are seeking Solace & Peace.Last time i happened to do this at Tiruvanamalai. Vedaranyam,the place has got great relevance for Vedas.It is believed that vedas were practised here and was spread over like forest, so only it was named as veda-aranyam,aranyam means forest.Murthi here is Vedapuriswarar. Nagapattinam,we visited the samathi of Gorakar a great siddhar.In fact all this stretch is so powerful because Gorakar and his 12000 diciples did penance here.Many of us are talking about Velankanni Amma temple today,if you look into the Bible there is no sign of this deity or temple,it is actually Vel Nedun Kanni Amman holding Lord Muruga in her hand.Over a period of time this has now become Velankanni Amma. Thiruvaiyaru,Sage Thiagaraja Swamigal Samathi,all of you know that swami use to sign in praise of Lord Rama always.As we were going thru this temple a person came running to me and asked " " Iam for sure you are Siva Sankar Baba of Neelangarai.I said yes! thats what everybody say,he prostrated immediately and said during utsav time this years we experienced unseasonal rains,infact on the Arathanai day it was raining cats & dogs we dint know what to do.Suddenly it occured to me to pray to you,my prayer was answered immediately rains stopped abruptly and function went on peacefully,after everyone has funished their lunch it started raining again.I consider this as a great miracle " .
