Guest guest
Hi all, This is a message from Vidya Mami: As there has been problems accessing the internet from Kelambakkam, Amma has not been able to upload the recent speeches. They are going to look into this. She will be uploading speeches very soon. Having read the various posts from you all, I can say that there is a lot of relevance to everyone opinion. Baba has always encouraged all of us to be confident and move along the lines of what we feel is correct, and it is very nice to note that all of us are indeed very succinct and convinced in our views. My feelings are as follows: I personally feel that that Kumudham, by encouraging perverse journalism is reducing its intrinsic value in the eyes of its rational and educated audience, and that all the baseless things anyone can do to tarnish the image of any “true” entity will definitely have no impact on the value of that entity to those who truly understand and appreciate its worth. However, I can also empathise with the opinions that if we feel in any way affronted by the comment then we should make ourselves heard, so that at least those people who print the journal can understand that what they have printed is not necessarily 100% true. Though everyone is entitled to his or her opinions I also have my own request to make to every member of this forum. It is entirely up to each individual person whether they wish to act according to it. Baba means something valuable to all of us – it could vary in nature in terms of your relationship with him, but I feel confident that for most of us the depth of respect and love we have for him is the same in the sense it is immeasurable. If there are a few sporadic responses/protests/convincing mails to Kumudham, they could read it and toss it aside, or read it – mumble ‘hmmm’ and then toss it aside. But if there is a deluge of absolutely well structured and convincing mails to them from various parts of the world, then sum of it could definitely make them sit up and take notice. And as a team, it is probably our duty to ensure that the efforts of some of the members of our team do not go wasted. I have already been to the Kumudham website and said my bit. I would definitely request you all to do the same. In case you are not aware of it, the url is: http://www.kumudam.com/servlet/FeedbackEditor Like I said, this is my feeling and I have acted on it. Guest guest
Thank You, Aish, for the link. I sent this feedback to Kumudam today: Sir, I have been a regular reader of Kumudam for more than 25 years now. Even after settling in USA, I continue to read kumudam regularly. Well, kumudam has been bold and forthright even on controversial subjects, but it has never made light of spiritual personages. Kumudam was the first and may be the only Indian magazine to start a " Prarthanai Club " . There are many Tamilains like me settled abroad who rely on kumudam. Therefore it is a big responsibility on Kumudam NOT to hurt our sentiments. Please do not publish callous and irresponsible remarks of 'name-less' people - more so when it hurts the sentiments of ardent devotees. I am referring to the article on Rajini's new film " BABA " and some one talking about " image " and " comedy " etc. - entirely in very bad taste. There is no reason why Swami Shiva Sankar Baba's name is to be dragged into that conversation at all and that too in such a disparaging manner. Kumudam should express regret as that has hurt our sentiments. And I am sure this represents the opinion of thousands of devotees like me. And Kumudam should take care NOT to publish any such indecent references towards any spiritual leader as well.
