Navarathri is for Goddess Ambal & Shivarathri is for Lord Shiva. It was on this Shivarathri day that Shiva gave darshan as a Jyothi swaroopam. & poojas & yagams are conducted for Shiva the whole night. Evening 6.00p.m to next day morning 6.00 a.m with 4 kala pooja for Shiva. Vilva leaves are very auspicious for Lord Shiva & abhishekams are performed for Lord Shiva.
