Guest guest
Hello all, that was a good idea by srinivsa. I can offer to do the conversion of the speeches into CD. i would sugggest making audio CD's out of the speeches as mp3's may not play in regular CD' players. i will try one such CD and will let u know the logistics. chapan \\\\ //// 0 0 oooo | 0000 ---------- ---------------- Divyachapan S Padur Email :dpadur Graduate Research Assistant Phone : (513) 556 - 7451® Applied Systems Research Lab. Guest guest
Hi chapan and all This is to tell u ppl that we actually tried doing this (Krishna Jayanthi series of speeches for last 5 years)... but the problem was that ppl complained abt the quality of the old speeches..they did not want to buy them at all, what ppl forget is that the old speeches can not be improved beyond a point. if u would like to hear them, the audio quality cannot be helped. Infact, bharath and I were infact planning to do something like this, but we decided to wait for some more time, till people realise that it is quite tough to get old speeches. cheers Badri
Guest guest
Hi Badriji, As far as the daily speeches are concerned, if the devotees have problem accessing the speeches online, if they have computers, it is possible to send them a CD containing all the speeches in .ra format. They need not be online to hold their telephone lines. This is one alternative. If it is to be in audio format, it increases the space requirement by ~ 1:250. So only 2 or 3 speeches may be burnt on a CD. Chapan or I or any other volunteer can burn CDs for them, depending on what their choice is. Guest guest
Hi All In case people in India dont know, in Kelams facilities exist to make CDs of speeches and video CDs of functions. I have seen a few being offered at a nominal cost. NCS can let us know who is the point of contact if one wants to get CDs. Guest guest
dear badriji and sai, regarding converting babs speeches into cd form it is a very good idea but if it is the consideration of the format if it is gonna be like audio format as sai said it is going to be like only 2 to 3 speeches in a cd but i suggest we convert speeches into MP3 format by this we dont comprimise much on quality as well as size is much reduced so we can get around 10-12 speeches on a cd considering the average time duration of a speech is 50 minutes. jus suggesting regards shankara
