Guest guest
Greetings to all. I am new to the teachings of Shiva Shankar Baba. I am wondering if Baba prescribes any particular type of method or meditation. For instance, does he give a mantra? Thus far from what I gather, he doesn't seem to advocate any particular practice leaving it up to the individual. If one chooses to have Baba as one's own guru (or perhaps He chooses you? an act of grace perhaps?), I would like to know what is involved? I'm sure that he doesn't require to be worshipped. But what really is his role on this Earth & what is our role in relationship to him?
Guest guest
Shankaram Siva Shankaram !! Hello Lonnie, Welcome to Samratchana family! To answer your query: Put in a nutshell, Baba's mission is to help us attain the Divinity latent within each one of us that is eagerly waiting to be comprehended. His objective is to unite the world into the one large family of God that it actually is. He does not entertain any disparity of religion, nation, caste, creed or gender. Anyone who has been associated with Baba knows that He treats everyone as God's child. In practice. Understanding that lack of material resources and lack of direction has led people into wrong channels, Samratchana, His center for self-realization offers various facilities to cater to people's needs, to make them healthier, self-sufficient leaders. Samratchana resolves the fundamental problems of unemployment and insecurity that today's youth face, by providing knowledge resources free of cost, thus giving them self-esteem and ways to make their living. And in present day society where both parents work to make ends meet, the youth who feel abandoned, find a caring shoulder to rest their troubled minds and distracted hearts : in Siva Shankar Baba Baba's life is His message and He is the prime volunteer of Samratchana. Volunteers who have understood Baba's concept of Universal Love and the whole world being one family render the various services. In the process of understanding Baba and associating ourselves with Him, our role, as I perceive it, is to understand His message, hold on to values come what may, add joy and love to the world and render service in whatever possible way we can. And most importantly, firmly hold on to what is right by ethical standards, and never indulge in anything that is neither true nor good nor useful to anyone. Guest guest
Thank you NCSangeethaa for your reply. And I would like to also thank those of you who have taken the time to personally email me to share your experiences with Baba. It has been very informative. Baba's devotees are most kind. I have made a decision to accept Baba as my own guru. Where this will take me, I do not know, but at this time in my life I need spiritual guidance. Therefore I shall put my trust in Baba's hands. It feels like the right thing to do. Hopefully some day I will be able to visit Baba. But until then, I trust he will guide me from afar. Again, many blessings.
