One such experimental community living project is `Samratchana'. 0"Here people forget the differences and live in harmony, treating everyone as their own kith and kin," says Mangala Suresh, a resident of the colony. The community living centre, located in a sprawling 32 acre campus at Kelambakkam, is equipped with the latest facilities. The organisation also runs the Sushil Hari International Residential School, which has about 300 students. The centre also offers vocational courses in tailoring, textile designing, typing and shorthand classes. "The residents do not accept salaries for their services. The members devote themselves to the projects here and share their knowledge and skills," says Mangala Suresh. Samratchana can be contacted at smrtchna or 24963434.Printer friendly page Send this article to Friends by E-Mail Metro Plus Bangalore Chennai Delhi Hyderabad Kochi Features: Magazine | Literary Review | Life | Metro Plus | Open Page | Education | Book Review | Business | SciTech | Entertainment | Young World | Quest | Folio | Archives DatewiseClassified LeadLife StyleFashionMusicPersonalityEating OutMadras MiscellanyIssuesArts & CraftsInformation TechnologyShoppingHeritageMiscellany NewsNews UpdateFront PageNationalRegional:• Southern States• Other StatesInternationalOpinionBusinessSportMiscellaneousIndexThe Hindu Group: Home | About Us | Copyright | Archives | Contacts | Subscription Group Sites: The Hindu | Business Line | The Sportstar | Frontline | Home | Comments to : thehindu 2003, The Hindu Republication or redissemination of the contents of this screen are expressly prohibited without the written consent of The Hindu
