Temple with Baba's photo

Dear All,

Just wanted to share this good news will you all...

Ganesh Shastrigal (He is the priest whom Baba mentioned as the person who

first volunteered to teach Vedas to women with trust in Baba, when all

others were against it) has started a temple in San Jose, California by

remodelling a Church that was on sale. He had brought idols of Gods and

Goddesses from Mahabalipuram and has had them all blessed by Baba before

bringing them to U.S.

Last Sunday, 8th June was the opening cermony and consecration of the idols.

He had advertised in all Indian magazines in the Bay Area and had

explictly mentioned his thanks and gratitude to Shri Siva Shankar Baba. He

had also arranged for a large photo of Baba for the temple(just like Baba's

photo in Neelankarai) and pamphlets about Baba, Samratchana, School,

Hospital, etc. with the intent of distributing it to all people who visit

the temple, thereby creating more awareness.

To think of it, other than Kelambakkam, this is the first temple in the

whole world that has the picture of Baba.

People who visited the temple were much impressed... some of them even

asked Ganesh Shastrigal if the temple has been sponsored by Baba, for which

he said, 'Baba only mentioned that I will start a temple and His words came

true and I am confident of its success as it has been blessed by Baba'.

He even mentioned that just like Samratchana in India, he has made available

2 large halls in the temple for religious activities(satsangs, bhajans and

poojas) free of cost, and initiate free classes on Vedas, Yoga, etc. He

said Baba's speeches or videos about Samratchana can be played in the main

hall during weekends so people visiting the temple would listen to it and be

benefitted.

It is impressive how he single-handedly found a place to start a temple with

determination and faith in Baba's words and how he has imbibed Baba's values

in his own life.

An interesting thing that happened during the ceremony...

In the sanctum, Baba's photo was placed on the left side and idols of all

deities were on the right. People were all faced towards the deities and

were paying their respects to the idols. So naturally, towards the end of

the ceremony, it so happened that all the idols were brought and laid down

right in front of Baba's picture by the Priests(unintentionally) and

everybody fell down before the deities to seek blessings and they were

indirectly falling right in front of Baba's picture.

It was so beautiful to see how the whole crowd were falling in front of

Baba's picture with Baba smilingly blessing them.
