Vallalar Saint Vallalar realized God. he saw God as light(Oli in tamil) and sang : "THANIPERUM KARUNAI ARUTPERUM JYOTHI, ARUTPERUM JYOTHI" He worshipped God in the form of Light and became the light- merged with God. He documented his experience and realization in the form of songs. The collection of songs is called Thiruarutba.
