Guest guest
Shankaram Siva Shankaram Dear all, Purpose of this communication is to appraise you of the idea of providing a single point telephone contact for all information about Samratchana, seek feedback and check out on access to free Interactive Voice Response System software. The idea of Samratchana Information Service (SIS) is to provide a dedicated Phone No, both in Chennai and in US, at which one can get all (voice) information about Samratchana he/she may desire. The system will have facility of offering muplitple options to the caller and as one chooses his options, he can further dig in till he reaches the appropriate information capsule he is looking for. The system now planned has over 100 options arranged in a 5 level tree. Some capsules in this, require daily change, some weekly and some periodical. We plan to set up a system to make the changes regularly, so that the caller gets upto date information. Subramanian (Telephone) uncle has started, with help of Bharat (son of Padmini Raghavan) a service under the title & #8220; Voice of Shankara & #8221; with Tel No 4114 274300 using a free software. This voice response system has limitation of not having ability to give branching off option and hence could offer only few options. Because of these limitations and as the system has not been well publicized, it has not been widely used. Uncle is keen to upgrade this if suitable IVRS software is available. Bharat has tried his best, but could not locate one. Could you please offer your comments on this plan and advise whether any of you have access to free IVRS software. Please note that NO ONE IS AUTHORISED TO PURCHASE A SYSTEM. Regards Arun Kumar
Guest guest
Shankaram Shiva Shankaram Hi Uncle, Bayonne and Toejam also seem to be right candidates. Both are from sourceforge (free). http://toejam.sourceforge.net/ http://www.gnu.org/software/bayonne/documentation.html Apart from that there might be some inexpensive sharewares ( less than $ 50). http://www.research-lab.com/resource4.htm http://www.handyarchive.com/free/ivr-software/ http://www.shareup.com/Go4Customer_IVR-download-1173.html http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Utilities/Access_Control_Utilities/ Go4Customer_IVR.html I haven't looked at all of them, but there some of them like WinIVR. Guest guest
Shankaram Shiva Shankaram ! Dear Samratchanites, I have analysed WinIVR tool and seems like this is also a very good candidate. It is also a freeware. The tool " WinIVR " supports branching off options for interactive menus. The usage of the tool is also simpler and it also provides flexibility in terms of creating the menus such as adding our own audio files. And it also has a simulator to test in a PC without modem. This is the URL to access the WinIVR <http://winivr.e3solutions.net> The following version can be downloaded from the above link: WinIVR v1.4d non-beta for Windows 95/98/ME/2000 (Full Version) There are sample applications also available in the same site especially the " structured menu " sample which is more relevant to our requirement. Guest guest
Shankaram Shiva Shankaram I couldn't find a free software which can provide all the features we want. But IVM also provides a cheap solution for a VoIP system with some extra cost. These statistics might be useful to compare with the cost of solutions provided by local firms. WinIVR seems to be $ 40 per line. But it looks good. I tried IVM (the link is given below) wherein you can create several Outgoing Messages and chain it together to have a structured menu. They have various pricing models. One such package provides this software with 2 telephone lines connection supporting 70 Outgoing Messages and 8 Voicemail boxes. ($ 96) The pricing information for various packages from NCH can be found at the link: https://www.nch.com.au/cgi-bin/register.exe?software=ivm If we want to have an intercom at Hospital or school to avail the benefits of VoIP, NCH provides each user license at a cost of $ 18. Computers can be one or two nodes and the rest can be VoIP phones. With DIAS service from BSNL and the above package, probably we can have a low-cost VoIP system there. IVR with limited capabilities seems to be cheap, even with added features it might still be cheaper than the packaged solutions that we might get outside for commercial offices. http://www.searchallsoft.com/ivm-telephone-answering-attendant.html There are other similar packages like IVM also available from searchallsoft.com website. Guest guest
Shankaram Shiva Shankaram! There is a small clarification that I want to make: WinIVR cost is not based on the no of telephone lines. The cost is based on the number of custom lines that is required in the welcome greeting message. Currently, the unregistered version will always say " This is an unregistered WinIVR project " as a welcome message. But when we need to handle multiple telephone lines, we need multiple modems installed on the PC according to the WinIVR requirement. Thanx, Baskar.
