Guest guest
Yogi Ramsuratkumar Swamigal ( Thiruvannamalai) - Birthday- Dec 1st ( Birthdate: Dec/1/1918 Samadhi- Feb/21/2001) Shivashankar Baba reveres Yogi Ramsuratkumar Swamigal who guides him spiritually and recalls his memories during his spiritual quest for God On 1st of December, 1918, along the banks of the Ganga in a village adjacent to Kashi in North India, Sri Yogi Ramsuratkumar made His descent in a religious family. Even in His childhood, swamiji showed signs of spiritual thirst. Bhagwan was equally drawn to the saints and sadhus who lived in the banks of the Ganges and was always engaged in Nama Japam. This invoked in heart the longing for the divine. Bhagwan with His burning desire to realize god started His journey in search of a Guru. He visited the ashram of Aurobindo and Sri Ramana Maharishi. It was in 1952 Bhagwan felt a strong inner urge to seek Swamy Ramadas at Anandashramam. His stay at Anandaashramam was a turning point in His spiritual life. Swamy Ramdas initiated Him in the divine mantram "Om Sri ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram" pronouncing the Mantra thrice in His ears. He came to Tiruvannamalai in 1959 and from then on staying there fulfills the divine task.He was also called Visiri Swamigal, as he had a fan with him always. For nearly 18 Years Bhagwan spent His days under the Punnai Tree near Railway station, Lord Arunacheleswara Temple (The big Temple at Thiruvannamalai) Prakarams, on the parapet wall near theradi(Temple Chariot place). On those days His first friend was a dog whom He named as “ Sai Baba”. *************************************************** Yogi had meditated many times in the midnights in the graveyards to get the grace of Shiva. Baba had visited Yogi many times at Thiruvannamalai during his quest for GOD and stayed there and sought his advice. Once when Baba was on fast for 48 days and after the karthigai deepam - Thiruvannamalai Deepam, Yogi didn't have anything to give Baba to break his 48 day fast. Just then, an old lady brought rasam rice and mixture for the Yogi and in his Thiruvodu ( coconut shell using as his vessel) with rasam rice asked Baba to have it to break his fast. Then later, he washed his hands in the thiruvodu and asked Baba to drink it. By this, he transferred his divine energy to Baba throught this act. From the words of Shivashankar Baba: "Once when i went to see Yogi Ram Surat Kumar Swamigal (called Visiri swamigal. Devotees used to bring food for him. Once ,when a devotee brought rasam rice for Him, He fed me with rasam rice from his Thiruvodu ( vessel which he carries for alms)-cocunut shell.. He fed me with rice & later washed His hands in that Thiruvodu & made me drink that water.by that ,He transferred his Divine Energy to me, through the water.. Only Mahaans can understand the meaning in it. In Kasi, Yogi Ramsuratkumar Swamy ( later known as Visiri Swamigal in Thiruvannamalai) was a school teacher. When he was drying his clothes in the open air, a bird which was flying above died. He cried and prayed to God that the bird should come alive. But, it di not get life. So, he took that bird near the Ganga river shore and buried it and he went straight to Kasi Vishwanathar tempel and cried to God "I'm so sorry that this bird died due to my mistake". That time, a light came and merged with him. What it means is that there was a God in that bird. This was a test for the powers to reach him. He would have been tested if he really had the compassionate nature and then only, that power merged in him. Many Mahaans were like this. They were never in the human form. SO, STOP ANALSING MAHAANS! MAHAAN'S VERY WELL KNOW WHAT TO GIVE, WHOM TO GIVE, WHEN TO GIVE ,HOW MUCH TO GIVE ,WHERE TO GIVE.. IT IS NOT IMPORTANT WHAT A MAHAAN GIVES YOU,BUT THE REAL TEST IS, TO WHICH EXTENT YOU ARE RECEIVING IT WITH FAITH. MAHAAN'S HAVE NO WANTS.THEY WILL NOT BE AFFECTED BY BOTH PRAISE, FAME & DISGRACE.THEY ARE LOVING TOWARDS EVERYONE WITHOUT ANY ATTACHMENT.LOVE CUTS THE REASON FOR THE BIRTH CYCLE. SO, RESPECT MAHAANS & IMBIBE THE CONCEPTS FOR WHAT THEY LIVED FOR. " ********************************************* Yogi Ram Surat Kumar called Baba : "SIVA SANKAR BABA IS GOD'S PRIME MINISTER" It was in 1977 a devotee of Bhagwan arranged a house in Sannadhi street near the temple. Devotees started visiting Him in this house. They used to spend hours with Bhagwan discussing their personal problems and Bhagwan solved those problems very easily. Devotees brought out lots of Books about Bhagwan’s life and their experiences with Bhagwan. They also brought out songs in praise of Bhagwan in books and in recorded tapes. It was in 1993 devotees sought the blessings from Bhagwan to have an Ashram for which Bhagwan gave permission. An Ashram had been constructed in the place that was earlier called as Agrahara kollai near Ramana Ashram in Chengam Road at Tiruvannamalai. Yogi was afflicted with cancer and had come many times and had taken treatment in Chennai by a reputed doctor who was taken well care of. In face Shivashankar Baba went and visited Yogi Ramsurat Kumar when he had come to Chennai for treatment once in September 1999. Shivashankar Baba had gone to meet the Yogi Ramsuratkumar at Thiruvannamalai before his samadhi. Yogi Ramsuratkumar Swamigal attained Siddhi(Mukthi) on 20th February 2001 at 3.19AM in the Ashram at Thiruvannamalai. The Mahasamadhi was done on 21st February at 3P.M. He attained samadhi at the age of 83 years. 20th February 2001 at 3.19AM in the Ashram at Thiruvannamalai. The Mahasamadhi was celebrated on 21st February at 3P.M. A Sivalingam has been installed on the top of Mahasamadhi. Daily Poojas, Abishekams, Bhajans and Arathanai are being performed. Devotees who visit the Ashram pay their Pranams to the Statue and the Mahasamadhi and pray for the blessings of Bhagwan. Yogi has dropped only the physical body, which had performed its appointed task. He still lives spiritually and blesses his devotees. Shivashankar Baba reveres Yogi Ramsuratkumar Swamigal who guides him spiritually. Baba has constructed a Glass house for Yogi at Ramrajya at Kelambakkam with a Bed with a 5 headed serpent as its head and Yogi's statue is consecrated with his fan. This shows the love of Shivashankar Baba for Yogi Ramsuratkumar Swamigal. In the daily arthi that is done at the temple, there is also a arthi song for the Yogi" Yogi Ramsurat kumara Jaya Gururaaya .............................. Yogi Ramsurat Kumara Jaya Gururaaya................................"
