Guest guest
Shankaram Siva Shankaram Even if you cannot do good, refrain from doing bad’. Those who seek God’s Grace, must desist seeing bad, doing bad, and thinking bad. Here are a few pointers to becoming a good student.1. Obedience 2. When someone praises you or points out a flaw, analyze rationally the truth in that statement and act accordingly. 3. Study well - - concentrate in the class and revise that evening. This is more than sufficient.4. Silence - - be silent between classroom sessions. This will give you the required focus to concentrate on each subject.5. Improve your Personality - - be aware of your aptitude and improve your talent in whatever draws your attention. Try to also specialize in something but at the same time develop at least an average skill level in all areas.6. Sports - Physical fitness is mandatory. Do some physical exercise or service daily. Your blood circulation will improve and so will your power of concentration. You may have arrived from Bombay or Delhi. You had the option to fly or take a train, or drive a car, ride a motorcycle or cycle or travel on foot. You are the passenger and have the options of mode of transport. This leads to the understanding that the soul is the passenger and the different forms are the vehicles. The Atma (soul), the all knowing light chooses the mode of transport. In another sense, it decides what dress to wear that day (in the present birth). When the shirt (physical form) is worn out, the soul discards it and switches over to another form. It is a long journey. Scientifically, at a particular energy level, everything crumbles. If the axle is not rotating at a particular speed, it comes to a standstill over a period of a few thousand years. And it regenerates again into a different form. That is termed Pralayam (Deluge). That is the ‘D-Day’! And, we do not have any say in what happens and when. Everything happens at a pre-appointed hour. When your dress becomes dirty, even if it be expensive, you wash it carefully to get rid of the specks, don’t you? So too, how much ever dear you are to the Lord, He has to cleanse you of the karmas you have accumulated across births. In order to dress Himself with the finest garments called ‘human beings’, the Lord washes them well. In order to adorn Himself with these finest jewels, the Divine Goldsmith called God thrusts you into the fire of worldly trials and tribulations. Realizing Divinity is the easiest and most inexpensive process in the world. You can “become†God the very next second if you want to. The formula is very simple. God = 1 L + 1 E +1 I + 1 C + 1 B – 1 A – 1 P – 1 H where L is Love, E is elegance, I is Intelligence, C is Cleanliness, B is Bliss,A is anger, P is partiality and H is hatred.Simple as it seems, is it not? If you can practice this formula, you will attain God. When you share the priceless reservoir of love latent within you, you realize your latent Divinity. To untie a knot, you have to analyze how it was tied and then slowly and steadily attempt to release it. If you hurry through the process, it will land up tauter than before. A patient attempt will surely help you unfasten it faster. When you pass a string through a needle, string it patiently lest the string breaks. Similarly, the cause of your present bindings is in your past birth. It makes sense to allow an all-knowing Mahaan to unravel it for you Ask for Him. Seek more of Him forever and ever. The natural tendency is to ask any boon connected to worldly prosperity - - the quicksand wilting pleasures of wealth, family, health etc.A mythological anecdote : Nachiketa was pestering his father during a yagam, 'You are giving away many gifts to all the participants, whom are you planning to give me to?' In a fit of irritation, the king said, 'I am giving you away to Yama'; and since he was performing a yagam then, Nachiketa landed in Yama Loka (the land of Yama, the Lord of Dharma and Death) like a guided missile. Yama, being pre-occupied at that time, could meet his guest after a lapse of three days only and tendered his apologies for making his guest wait for him. He also granted Nachiketa any three boons the boy wished. To which Nachiketa responded, 'Whatever boon you grant me will not ensure an eternal life for me. You may give me riches, when I die, they are no longer mine. So it is with family and anything of the world. Grant me something that cannot be taken away from me'. When Yama replied that was not possible, Nachiketa refused to accept any boon.I am also like that! I have had visions of so many celestials. They have asked me several times, 'What boons do you want'? I have always refused any boon. When a worldly looking person like me is not asking for a boon, it is because I have understood the futility of boons. The best thing is to understand that you have the key within you to all that you want, and that is because you yourself are a miniature form of the Ultimate Divinity. Whatever constitutes God or Godliness is within you too. You have all the ingredients that make God. So, instead of standing before God like a beggar and asking for a perishable boon, kindle the spark of divinity within you so that you can grant boons to anyone. That is what I have accomplished. Anyone who comes to me needs to go no further for food or clothes or shelter. The whole concept of living undergoes a dramatic change and people find peace here. This has been made possible because I nurtured the latent divinity within me. All powers are within us - - just that we need to put them to use. Try to decipher the secret code within you - - the code of becoming contented and growing beyond wants. When you achieve that state, anything you wish for, happens. He who has wants worships; He who has no wants is worshipped and can himself become a Karpaga Vriksham (wish fulfilling tree). Then you need not worship; you need not waste your time seeking anything called God. You will become that which is God. It is not the question of becoming God, it is discarding what is the "unbecoming" of God! You are already God; you do not understand your potential to perform the role of God! When you wish to carve a divine figurine, what will you do? You pick up a good stone. Keeping a mental outline of the idol, you chip off the unwanted portions of the stone with a big chisel. Then with a medium sized chisel, you start carving the basic proportions. Then you take a small chisel and carve the intricate portions - - the eyes, nose etc. So, what you term as a carving of God is a rejection of the unwanted portion from the stone. Ultimately you engrave some form of God from the same stone which was lying unheeded somewhere. You too are like a stone. Discard all the unwanted elements from you and the Divinity will reveal itself from within you. Sculpting is not chiselling, it is discarding all those irrelevant elements, that obstruct the making of the final piece. So too let go of all the negative qualities that hinder your discovering your divinity. Just like you sweep away trash with a broom, make use of the broom called devotion and sweep away the trash in your mind. Then that whole place will be clean and God will instate Himself. - Love Baba Chant & be Happy " Shankaram siva Shankaram" - Maha Get an email ID as yourname or yourname.
