Guest guest
Shankaram Shiva shankaram God will first occupy the temple of the heart. Only thoughts form life. God is nothing and nobody. You can see Him as anything. You can perceive Him in any way you want. When you reach across to Him with love, He acknowledges and responds faster. It is difficult to get the ‘Nagalinga’ flower. Many would not have even seen this flower. It is white in color outside. Inside it looks like the gopuram of a temple. This sacred flower is very auspicious for Lord Shiva. But it is not easily available. Generally, these flowers are grown only in temples. Nobody grows them in houses. By any chance, if you are carrying this flower from the temple, you should not forget to offer some money in the hundi. It would become a sin to take any property belonging to the temple. When I take a Nagalinga flower and offer it in the sacrificial fire, in a Homan or Yagam, I bring Shivas from all temples to my mind – Kedarnath, Badrinath, Amarnath, Kailash, Chidambaram, Kancheepuram, Kalahasthi, Thiruvanaikaaval, Thiruvannamalai, Rameshwaram, Kasi and other Shiva temples that I have seen while offering the flower and then accomplish my pooja. I never open my mouth and utter a single mantra. I close my eyes, sit and perform the pooja. If you ask me if there is any result in doing pooja of this kind, yes, there is! In a similar manner, Saakiya Nayanar was throwing stones on Lord Shiva. People seeing him thought he was mad. But to him, the stones were flowers and he was performing abishekam for Lord Shiva. The King of the Pallava Kingdom, also a great devotee of Lord Siva, constructed a magnificent temple in Kancheepuram for Kailashanathar (Lord Shiva) and marked a day for the Kumbabishekam (consecration). Lord Shiva appeared in his dream and said, “I can’t come to your temple on the day of the Kumbabishekam as I have given a date to Saakiya Nayanar on that day.†The Pallava King was very surprised. “Lord Shiva is going to a temple built by someone else and has asked me to postpone my date for the Kumbabishekam.!†Wondering who it could be, he tried to locate Saakiya Nayanar and finally found him sitting under a tree. The King approached him. “Lord Shiva mentioned that you have built a temple. I have come to have a darshan of the temple. Where is the temple located?†Hearing this Saakiya Nayanar laughed and said, “What! Does that Sudalai Aandi (Lord Shiva) consider what I built as a temple?†The King did not understand and seeks more explanation. Saakiya Nayanar tells him, “I am a vagabond. I sat under this tree and constructed a temple for him in my mind. The first day, I imagined laying foundation for the temple, second day I constructed walls, the third day I built the gopuram, placed a statue of Lord Shiva, circumbulated the temple, then informed the Lord that today is the Kumbabishekam.†The Lord accepted a temple built in the mind and postponed His visit to the Kailashanathar temple built out of stone. The Lord said, “I will first come to the temples of the heart.†(U]) This is a true event in history. God has answered the call of devotees when called out of love. When your being yearns for God, tears roll down non-stop, in your love for God. When your heart melts for God, He will come to you in a split second! Brahma and Vishnu had an argument over who between them was greater. Unable to arrive at a conclusion, they approached Lord Shiva for judgment. Shiva took the form of Jyothi stating that whoever could measure His height and depth would be declared the winner. Brahma took the form of a swan and flew up to measure the Jyothi's height. This is the path of knowledge. Vishnu took the form of a wild boar and dug into the earth in an effort to find the depth of the Jyothi. This is the path of Yogam. On his way, Brahma met a Thaazhampoo flower falling from the sky. To Brahma's question, said the flower answered that it had been traveling downwards for so many 'kalpakoti' yugas. Brahma then struck a deal with the flower to vouchsafe that it had met Brahma when the latter sighted Shiva's head. That's why offering of this flower to Shiva is forbidden. What is the concept of Arunachala Jyothi? 1. God is in the form of the Eternal Flame whose heights and depths cannot be measured. 2. How many thousands of eons you are in Yogam, you may not gain the bliss of feasting your eyes on the One who is Nectar to the eye, then how is it possible to do so through knowledge? ]... 3. The only way to understand the heights and depths of this Eternal Light that warms us by its Grace is “Surrenderâ€. Annamalai means Arunachalam. 'Arunam' means 'Sun'. ‘Malai or Chalam’ means 'Hill'. Sun's Hill. Even after so many years, there is a power in that hill, the reason being the sun's energy. Also, several Mahaans have performed severe penance in the forests and have attained ‘Jeeva Samadhi’ . Human mind symbolizes moon. When sun's rays are together, it is very powerful. That is the reason on Pournami day, when Moon is in full form, and when you circumbulate this hill, (Giri Valam). Your mind gets the energy of the sun, which is present there enormously. Your thoughts will become more clear and noble. This is the concept of Giri Pradhakshanam, or Giri Valam. On Pournami days when I conduct Homams and Sathyanarayana Pooja there is a live force within means there is lot of Divine energy within me When you come to me on those days, you will get the waves of this energy and you will get the right benefit.
