Guest guest
Shankaram Shiva shankaram I am always with you , within you. I am never separate from you!. You can always speak to me. I am within you. Replies are from within! Only "athma's" exist in this world. Faith & love come on their own & they cannot be given to anyone. In every era, prophets came & loved everyone, but, only a few trusted them & got the benefit. Others used to criticize & mock. People who criticize are ignorant , as they talk about mahatmas whom they do not even want to know. You are all rare commodities, you love & believe , even from a distance. I can understand your feelings of love & faith for me. I cherish your love & care. A " time" is fast coming when "i" will be glorified all over the world. Then , such people who chose me "first" will be always close to me. Because, it is they who beleived 'me' when 'i' did not 'prove' myself to them. They trusted me without "proofs". Samratchana is a beautiful experiment in love & service! " kandu vittu vaasipavargalai vidavum kaanamal visvaasippavargalea bhagyasaaligal !! Mahaan's are not photos or stones or statues. Mahaans are philosophies! Living philosophies!! Living ideals!! You should follow this in your life. It is not the man that matters. It is the ideal that counts. Ideals ruled the world, not man., Be rest assured, i will take care of everything. Be happy !!! Muruga (also known as Skanda) rose to the position of the Guru from being the Commander-in-Chief of the Celestial I have often declared that it was Sanatkumara Rishi who reincarnated as Muruga. Human mind may find it difficult to accept such concepts, because of its devotion. But divinity is a state and not any particular entity. Human beings, veiled by their ignorance, assume that only the form they worship is god and every other form is inferior. That is not so. All divine forms that we know of -- be it Muruga or Ambal or Krishna or Jesus or Buddha were normal human beings who attained divinity through the power of their penance. They offered worship and are therefore worshipped. He who leads a noble life on earth finds place among the celestials. The old testament records Moses being guided by ‘the word’ to the ten commandments. It was when Jesus wandered about the mountains and hills in search of the truth that ‘the word’ guided him. Siddhartha was a crown prince. The pains of the world that were in stark contrast to the princely pleasures he was attuned to, shocked him into renouncing the kingdom in quest of truth and that is how he was transformed into the Buddha. Every human being attains enlightenment at a pre-destined time. Depending on the power of penance a person has gained over his or her previous births, he or she is guided to enlightenment and the realization that everyone’s natural state is divinity. Individuals like Rama, Krishna, Jesus, Buddha imbibed noble values, adhered to dharma and are therefore in the absolute divine state. The cosmic force is the synergetic combination of all these divine forces and much more. It is a blazing light, the mahajyothi that transcends everything. A fraction of that eternal light manifests itself in various forms to facilitate other human beings to realize their divine state. Sanatkumara rishi, one among the first four mind-born sons of Brahma, was deeply rooted in penance, oblivious to external circumstances. Present day society wallows in worldly temptations and loses focus; in days of yore, men were in an eternal state of bliss. They had no need of the world, and were engrossed in penance in the silent solitude of forest caverns. Sanatkumara rishi had a vision of devas (lords) and asuras (demons) fighting, and saw himself in the role of a general, leading the devas to victory. He discussed this vision with his celestial father brahma, who replied that though it was not yet in his contemplation, since sanatkumara had that vision, it was bound to come true. Later, during the course of sanatkumara’s penance, lord siva appeared, saying, ‘i am amazed that you are deep in penance despite being a mere child. Name the boon i can grant you.’ the young rishi smiled and said, ‘i did not call you, so why did you come?’, and siva replied, ‘the power of your penance drew me to you; please name the boon you want.’ the amused sanatkumara responded, ‘the way you persistently ask me if i want any boon makes me think that you need some favor from me.’ Siva laughed. In truth, he was delighted and almost intoxicated with love for this divine child who was totally detached from the world. He wanted to own a son like sanatkumara. He expressed this wish to the rishi, and the child repeated the conversation he had had with brahma and said he would manifest himself as siva’s son when the time came for him to lead the devas as their general. Parvati exclaimed in happiness, ‘what a noble son i am blessed to beget!’, to which sanatkumara retorted, ‘i said i will take birth as siva’s son, i never said i will be born to you; i am not prepared to spend time in a mother’s womb; i will take birth as a mind-born son (ayonija) only.’ this shocked parvati into saying, ‘how is this possible when i have a rightful claim to siva’s left half’ (ardhanareeswara swaroopa of siva, where parvati is in the left half of siva’s form) when sanatkumara was firm in his decision, asserting that he would take form as siva’s son but not to siva and parvati, siva suggested a compromise. Earlier, siva had granted a boon to basmasura (and i am quoting all these incidents to help you understand how ancient the world is) that those whose heads were touched by basmasura would be burnt to ashes. Immediately basmasura attempted to test the boon on siva. Siva sought vishnu’s help; vishnu took on the form of mohini, charmed basmasura into placing his hand on his own head and there ended the story of this demon. Meanwhile, parvati’s form melted in her longing for her divine consort siva, and this became the ‘saravanapoigai’ (pond formed of her molten state). Quoting this incident, siva told parvati, ‘since saravanapoigai is also your form, sanatkumara will take birth in that holy pond; thus your wish will be fulfilled’. There were six hermit women in austere penance seeking the boon of parenting the noblest son on earth. Vishnu appeared and said that there could be only one such, noblest being a superlative and every one of those six women were worthy of the boon. The time was approaching when sanatkumara was due to be born to siva, and vishnu granted these six women the boon of bringing up this child as its foster mothers (these women are popularly referred to as the karthigai women). The seed of the fiery blaze from siva’s third eye was transported to ganga by vayu and ganga placed it in saravanapoigai. And thus, sanatkumara took form as siva’s son, muruga; was nurtured by the six hermit women; and grew up to rout out the demoniac forces, and establish dharma on earth. This incident must have happened several yugas ago, since there is an account of sage viswamitra and sage agastya detailing this episode to rama. And then muruga grew up to be a gnana guru, and tutored none less than lord siva himself, thus befitting the statement ‘child is the father of man’.
