Guest guest
Shankaram Shiva shankaram All the sounds and visions in the Cosmos are contained in the Lord. You have a wonderful, peaceful atmosphere at the temple. A good ambience. Nothing to disturb you. No trouble for you here. Your mind will find it easy to concentrate on and get merged into the divinity of the songs being rendered here. There are three reasons why you are unable to do it. One, you may not know the context of the song. You may not be aware of who the composer is. So you may not be conscious of the significance of the song. Secondly, you may not be aware of the meaning of the song. Thirdly, your mind must not waver anywhere. It must dwell on the song, the situational context and the meaning. If you are able to align your mind with the songs being rendered, your whole being will be enveloped by peace. Whatever you see in this world, happens as per God’s Ordain. If that is a true statement, then that holds good for what is happening in your life too. You may not know. You have your own plans, and are dismayed when your plans go awry. You fail to realize that God’s plans for you are the best! He is on the Shore, and can see both ways, and is therefore the best judge of circumstances. He can see the boats and the ships sailing, the sharks keeping low profile for a bite and how far it is to the shore on either side of the water. Whereas you are swimming in the water, and can see in only one direction - - and everywhere it is only water. There are no religions. The religions that exist today are a form of hero worship. People who like Jesus Christ and his ideologies and followed him, became Christians. Followers of Mohammed Nabi, titled themselves Muslims. People who like the form of Siva, and were influenced by the teachings of Adi Sankara, called themselves Saivites. This is how religion came into being. See, the followers of both Madhwa and Ramanuja are Vaishnavites in spirit, but their devotion to their Gurus differentiated them into Madhwas and Vaishnavas. There is nothing like Heaven and Hell. All these exist in your mind. When a man decides that he will be peaceful, come what may, then nothing can change his peace. If, on the other hand, he has decided to be disturbed, then not even the greatest saint can make him a happy person. That which you think, you are. So if you have decided to be in heaven (happiness), then nobody can force you into hell. But, if you have decided on hell (sorrow), then nobody can give you heaven. Choose what you want, and you will have it! Just as He has sketched a history for this world, He has planned a life for you too. He binds everything together with firm chords of Love and Care. If you understand this, you will never be confused. Your plans may fail. His Plans for you will never fail you. He has a Master Plan for everyone of us. His Plans are Master Plans. And He is the only Master. Always keep this in mind. Initially, the mind focuses on what it deems to be its own priorities rather than listen to your inner wisdom. You lose focus because the mind disturbs you with a thought that seems more important to it. Try to identify those thoughts – whether it is about your family or office or the world at large. Do not try to run away from that thought. Just witness it, allowing the mind to run its own course. How long can you keep harbouring a thought? The mind will soon get tired of its chase and become serene like the calm after a storm. Every thought has a definite time limit and it does not linger beyond that time. All that you have to do is to continue watching it till it dies naturally. Then you will get the inner focus on whatever form you want because that is the only thing left. Just like when you eat the various delicacies on your plate, when you come to the last piece, it is only that which remains, so too, when you have finished with all your thoughts, what is left is the wisdom of God. But this process cannot come by force, it has to happen naturally. And then you will travel beyond thoughts, beyond thinking of God too. That is the true state of bliss. Even the thought of God is subject to limitation. It means your mind is not totally tamed. Do not be restless to go to that stage. Just allow things to take their own shape. Comprehending that there is no distinction between ‘the sought’ and ‘the seeker’, and realizing that everything is the Self. That Self-Realization is the highest state in spirituality. In this world, adamant nature and unwanted arguments cause ego clash and this is the most common reason for all problems. Many families have lost peace because of ego problems; there is no other reason. It takes both the palms to clap. A fight does not ensue without the involvement of two parties. Problems may quickly swell to the size of a mountain over trivial issues. The only solution for all these disputes is that one of the two parties involved should gracefully give way to the other. Even if it is a wrongdoing on the part of person X, it will seem wrong only at that moment. When you think over it with a composed mind, you will find that everything has a justification. If you explain someone’s mistake to him or try to correct his mistake, his hatred towards you will increase. Try explaining to him when he is in a better frame of mind, but never enter into an argument and spoil your friendship. If he has to learn the hard way, let him undergo the repercussions of his actions. When you tell a child not to touch the flame of a lamp, if it is still adamant about doing so let it burn its finger. Then it will never touch fire again. Sound your warning, then leave it at that. My informal way of working has motivated the youth on to the spiritual path. I am able to tune to the wavelength of the youth and able to guide them on the good values they have to imbibe. They are able to balance themselves well between love and respect. While the present day youngsters in outside society are in confusion over what is good and what is bad, Samratchana youngsters are on the right path. This is one of my prime contributions to society. I mould youngsters in the right direction. Samratchana children are trained by example to engage themselves in all types of service, with dignity. Samratchana youngsters understand that everything they do is an expression of their love for God. They have been motivated to look on everyone as God, everything as God, and so they treat everyone with due respect and love. They make very fine assets for any family and therefore lead a good life wherever they are. They will not disturb anyone and they will not harm anyone. This is a new philosophy of life. The future will bear testimony to the success of this philosophy.
