Guest guest
Welcome to Searching-Alternatives! After developing Searching-Alternatives for several months, I began to see how a new and revolutionary site could be birthed. Normally, when one asks for help concerning their health (or that of a loved one) they are confronted by a multitude of self-vested entities all wanting to promote their own product or service. As I see it, the calling to help others in alleviating their pain and misery is among the highest of noble callings. But as I watched so-called healers jump in and try to cultivate clients but without first offering any sort of real assistance to those suffering other than: " buy my product or service " , I understood how so many other site owners, out of sheer frustration I am sure, decided to ban all commercial content completely- plain and simple- no advertising what-so-ever. But to me, that seems a little too restrictive, and I believe engenders a stifled atmosphere. Instead I envisioned a haven for professionals and lay people alike to come together to learn and explore the vast territory that is termed " alternative health " . And how else does one learn, other than through the doing? So I wanted to create a space where again, professional and lay person alike, can come together to offer and seek help, but in such a way as to benefit all. In creating this dynamic, I have realized it is remarkably difficult to shift peoples' thinking from self-promotion and how is this going to benefit me thinking, to offering information for the sake of information, to heal for the sake of healing, and then allowing whoever is interested to seek that particular person out for private consultation, etc. Because of this I must ask all formats that automatically create this self-vested mentality such as MLM or other get-rich-products, be excluded from all discussions and postings. Likewise, no direct self advertisement for services or products is allowed. What I would ask each person to consider is this: what information can I share that will help the group, what knowledge can I impart that might make this person's suffering less, how can I help- even if the time, energy, advice, etc., that I give never, ever benefits me? Give of yourself and then in your by-line please put your contact information such as email address and/or website, and trust that those that need you will find you- whether directly from this site, or through the abundant bounty of creation. I do believe healing the suffering of others is a sacred calling, and I do believe this true, altruistic, spirit in healing exists, and most importantly I believe together we can create a space for it to flow… Thank you for joining us in this wonderfully, exciting journey into health & well-being.
