Guest guest
But what we do about our kids who feel if we discourage them of this practice we are infringing on their self- expression rights as individuals ? I have cousins who have more holes than they were born with and none of them care about health concerns, as to them, there are none--they are fine ! What now ? ms. erica " Misty L. The tongue because the metal jewelry will often hit the teeth, and sometimes even chip the teeth. That is straight forward enough, the belly button is a little more subtle. Acupuncturists greatly respect the belly button area and consider it a sacred connection with our ancestors. For this reason I have heard acupuncturists will NOT needle this area... Now imagine a small, thin needle inserted ever so slightly for just a little bit of time, and compare that with a comparatively huge piece of metal jewelry that is left in for who knows how long... Are there any acupuncturists out there to confirm this? Be Well, Misty L. Trepke http://www..com Think Carefully About Getting a Tattoo or Body Piercing... Guest guest
Well, my thought on this is that YOU are the parent, and YOU are in charge of them and are paying for their upkeep. I told both of my kids (adults now) that while they were living in our house, and we were responsible for them, and paying their way, that they have to abide by the rules of our house - and the rules are no body piercing or tattoos, or they would have to move out. That's how strong we felt about the subject. Both kids whined and both wanted pierces and tattoos, but neither got them. And just the one got one earring pierce after he moved out after college. I guess US paying for college had a greater impact on them than moving out, getting pierces, and having to pay their own way. Now they both tell us thank you for not letting them do such asinine stuff to their bodies, because they are both in extremely well-paying professional jobs, and that " look " would not be acceptable. If kids could only see into the future!! We just have to help them along the path.
