The Food and Drug Administration said it first warned Jean's Greens of Norway, N.Y., in 2001 to stop making disease-related marketing claims for Forticel teas. FDA said Thursday that government agents seized 385 bottles and 78 tea-mix packages from the company, which sells through the Internet and a local store. " FDA is committed to rooting out modern purveyors of snake oil, " FDA Commissioner Mark McClellan said in announcing the seizure. No one answered a phone call to Jean's Greens on Thursday afternoon. FDA said it has received no reports of illnesses from use of the teas. http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2003/09/18/fda_ seizes_4100_worth_of_herbal_tea/ Anyone wishing to see the company FDA is bringing its full force and weight upon, go to http://www.jeansgreens.com/ My guess is that this is another prosecution at the behest of the pharmaceutical companies for the sale of Essaic.
