Guest guest
Based on the research I have done, I happen to agree that cell phone use is a risk factor in brain tumors - but, due to the huge amount of economic liability, it is unlikely that this information will ever be accepted as valid. Similarly, consider the risks of exposure to microwaves from microwave ovens over the past several decades. While the standards for safe levels of microwave emissions has been lowered many times by a huge factor, and tests have proven that micro-wave emissions can cause tumors, sterility and anterior cataracts, nowhere has the powers that be been willing to openly publish such findings when you have such huge corporate powers as Raytheon, Westinghouse, etc. involved. There are some alternative devices that screen out the damaging emissions of cell phones, and, while I am not knowledgeable enough to know which ones are the best, I do think that such devices are far from being gimmicks. For many decades, the Rooskies were on the leading edge of micro-wave transmission technology. And I have no doubt that is why their industrial standards for emissions have always been much more restrictive than the US's - not to mention why they have been guilty of bombarding the American Embassies in Russia with microi-waves dating back to before the cold war! On a similar front, have you happened to notice how many major corporate enterprises have disontinued the use of styrofoam containers for fast foods and beverages (especially coffee)? You know why? Because they know that there is a huge liability issue looming down the road because styrofoam had been shown to be carcinogenic! Yep - if you ingest styrofoam, which you likely will do if you drink for eat from styrofoam containers, and if you heat take-home foods contained in styrofoam containers, then you have ingested particles that cause cancer! And THAT, imho, is the reason why the major fast food chains and convenience stores have converted from the by-far cheaper styrofoam cups and containers to the compresssed paper materials that cost more and are less efficient at keeping foods and beverages hot!
