Guest guest
There are two schools of thought on naturally beating cancer. One school says that you can beat cancer with the right diet (Budwig, raw food, vegan, juicing or whatever) and an austere lifestyle. The other school, says that while perhaps you can avoid cancer with the right diet and lifestyle, and, if you can be super strict, you might even beat cancer once it has gained a foothold, in the trade-off world we live in, you likely need the natural and proven cancer-fighters nature has provided along with the right diet, veggies, juices, lifestyle, etc. I think that in the real world, it may be very hard to insure the untainted, nutrient rich vegetables and fruits that nature provided generations ago before chemical fertilizers, chemical contaminants and soil depletion came along. And then there is the fudge factor. I don't know about the rest of you, but I fudge. Oh, I do a lot of healthy things and take some very good supplements - like omega-3 oils, turmeric, " oleander soup " , alpha-lilpoic acid, milk thistle, selenium, lycopene, etc. But, even as I sit here typing while munching raw almonds and dipping brocolli and carrots into a home-made olive oil, spinach and garlic dip, I have to concede that the green tea I am drinking was brewed with tap water, the same source the ice cubes came from - and I won't even begin to tell you how I adulterated my big morning cup of coffee at the counter with all the hazel nut, southern buttered pecan, almond, carmel and irish creme creamers and flavorings this morning. Not to mention that (shudder) fast food meal I grabbed on the run this afternoon. Despite a weekend of clean air and sunshine and some good physical labor clearing some family land of overgrowth, preaparing a spot for my cousin's travel trailer, feeding the recently catfish stocked ponds, there was also a " healthy " amount of beverages consumed and some charcoal grilled meals on the other side of the balance beam. And I do not get as much exercise through the week as I should. I do not buy all of my fruits and vegetables at an organic only market, I eat too much processed grains (bread) and I have this damned sweet tooth that is always whispering sugary thoughts in my ear. No, I cannot lie and tell you that I practice 100% of what I preach. Now, if I ever actually develop cancer, I am certain that I would be much more austere, but, I have to be honest and say that even then I would likely be less than 100%. In other words I would still fudge, at leastin some areas. I suspect that the same is true for a lot of us, and that minimizing the fudging and maximaizing the good things we do is as good as it will practically get. And so, for us who fudge at least a little on what we consume and our lifestyle choices, perhaps the best " practical " advice is to try our best to do as many right things and as few bad things as possible and also add some proven natural cancer fighters to our arsenal as well.
