Guest guest
Thanks to the FDA and the lobbyists for the sugar industry, Stevia is not allowed as a food additive, so no rootbeer or pepsi unless you want to make it yourself. I would like to see the research about stevia evening out the blood sugar. Every report I have seen says it has no effect. It is useful for diabetics, yes because of its Non-effect. The whole herb does have a constituent that kills the bacteria which causes plaque on our teeth, I doubt that this exists in the extracts. We are quite fortunate that we are allowed access to stevia as a food " supplement " It was banned for 4 yrs, 2 yrs longer than the law says they have to prove its harmful or give it back to us. During those 4 yrs you could still buy the dried herb from certain places, but it contained a warning label " not for internal use " I found that rather amusing. zoe Thursday, March 22, 2007, 2:53:07 AM, you wrote: I doubt it. Stevia evens out blood sugar, whether it's high or low. There are diabetics who have gotten off insulin shots within two weeks by encapsulating the herb and taking them for as little as two weeks. It also kills tartar on teeth according to Japanese tests. What more could we want? Perhaps we simply get hungry?
