Guest guest
Moderator's Note: The question of which water- reverse osmosis, spring, distilled, sun charged- is a question that has many, many opinions. I would love to hear what others have to say about this.. And as far as the 6 glasses in the morning- that will obviously help with rehydration but it is mainly a therapuetic exercise to flush the inner organs after your nightly fast. THEN you drink a 1/2 gallon to gallon later in the day- in addition. I think there is also a recipe for adding salt to the water. The main goal of the article was to make people aware of the healing potential of water. For more detailed information, please go to the source, Dr. Batmanghelidj, M.D.'s book, website, etc. Best Wishes, Misty L. Can someone clarify what to drink? Isn't it better to drink water thruout the day instead of the 6 glasses in the morning within 10 minutes? Too much water can also can lower the salt content in the body.
Guest guest
Moderator's Note: Thank you for your post, Bruce. I was trying to slip in some advice that was given to me by my master teacher. Rare, hard to find information for people with serious complaints. For people that have serious complaints it is hard to imagine a squeaky clean digestive system. Digestion is a foundation of good health, so it seems more likely than not that a person with a chronic condition could use some flushing of the digestive system. The advice also honors the biological clock of the body and works with it's rhythmns. Table 1. Two-Hour Peak Periods of the Twelve Organs in Traditional (see text) http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0HKP/is_2000_Summer-Fall/ai_69540134/\ pg_1 Time Period Time Branch Organ 03:00-05:00 Yin Lungs 05:00-07:00 Mao Large Intestine 07:00-09:00 Chen Stomach 09:00-11:00 Si Spleen 11:00-13:00 Wu Heart 13:00-15:00 Wei Small Intestine 15:00-17:00 Shen Bladder 17:00-19:00 You Kidneys 19:00-21:00 Xu Pericardium 21:00-23:00 Hai TripleWarmer 23:00-01:00 Zi Gallbladder 01:00-03:00 Chou Liver So by flushing the body first thing in the morning you take advantage of the healing and detoxing that has occured over the course of the night. Notice the time period for the liver & lungs. Then comes the digestive organs: large intestine & stomach. So when you drink your water you are actually (most likely) doing that during the time of the stomach. And to be true to the letter- it was recommended that one drink 1/2 gallon to a full gallon upon rising. But I knew I would catch a lot of grief if I said that, hence the 6 glasses- which is still better than nothing. But notice the grief I did catch. I have often observed that what is really therapeutic is dismissed or encounters great opposition. I am not picking on anyone- I was/am more than guilty of this mistake until I began to recognize (still not fully a master of it) that the principles of healing don't care about my personal preference. If my personal preferences were instinctively right- I wouldn't have the issues I do. In other words, it is just another symptom, albeit a much larger and subtle view, of the foundation of our (my) lack of health and wellbeing. So, instead of tearing down other ideas, can we stay focused on presenting new information if you disagree? I explained this about how I prefer we don't say Tai Chi is better than Yoga. If I post something about Yoga, but your preference is Tai Chi- then post about the benefits of Tai Chi and not how Yoga is wrong. That way, people that do click in to the information about Tai Chi don't have to deal with the opposition, and likewise, people may get benefits from the information about Yoga that didn't resonate to the info about Tai Chi. Best Wishes, Misty L. Trepke http://health. -------------------------- Water is the single most important thing our bodies use. You can go for weeks without food, but only a few days without water. It is crucial to drink good, clean water to keep your system functioning. I would be careful about drinking too much at one time and 6 glasses if taken all at once is quite a bit. A lot has to do with what the intended use is. RO will clean most things out of water. If you have very clean water going in, it is relatively cheap to operate, probably in the range of 6 to 10 cents per gallon. It can be rather expensive to maintain, especially if you have heavy iron deposits in your water source. If you have disolved iron in the 15 ppm range, you will be replacing a membrane every few months to the tune of $75 and up plus the other filters involve. Iron kills the membrane which is the most expensive part of the filtering process. Steam distilled if used with a carbon filter is probably the second cheapest to operate on the long term. It gets everything out of the water when the carbon post filter is used. I would guess we spend about 20 cents per gallon on drinking water we distill. The decided advantage to it as far as cancer is concerned is that it has a very slight negative charge on the molecules which in turn does help with fluid exchange between the cells and your cells need to be flushed. It is my water of choice. We have a home distiller and have used it for a couple of years now. Spring water is well water with a fancy name. If the spring is clear, life is good, but unless it is filtered, it still has all the basic things found in any well water which is something to keep in mind. Most commercial waters that are sold in stores as spring water are nothing more than deep well pumped water that is bottled right as it comes from the ground. You would be just as far ahead bottling water from your tap if you are on a good well. A good rule of thumb for water is to drink a minimum of 1/2 gallon per day or half of your body weight in ounces per day. If you weigh 200 pounds, you drink 100 ounces. This is sufficient to flush anything inside out as well as keep proper hydration. You can add 1/4 tsp sea salt per gallon of water for trace minerals. You can add 1/2 tsp of baking soda to water to alkalize it, if you so desire. This will take the taste buds a little adjusting to, but it is a whole lot cheaper than $500-1000+ for a " water alkalizing unit " which frankly is a scam. $2 of baking soda will last you a year and you can go an awful lot of years on $500 worth of baking soda.
