Guest guest
Saw Palmetto inhibits and even destroys a wide variety of cancer cells Saw Palmetto Extract was tested on human cell lines of prostate cancer, breast cancer, kidney cancer, kidney bladder cancer, colon cancer, and lung cancer; the prostate cancer and breast cancer cells were from samples that were hormone dependent or hormone insensitive (in hormone dependent prostate or breast cancers sex hormones fuel the growth of the cancer). The scientists from the University Hospital Zurich state that Saw Palmetto Extract inhibited the growth of every form of cancer cell line. The effects on hormonally fueled breast cancer and prostate cancer were much more potent than the effect on hormone insensitive cancers. The Saw Palmetto also was able to kill from 22.5% to 36.3% of each cancer cell type except for the human lung cancer. The study is published in the March-April 2007 issue of the journal Anticancer Research. Pygeum Africanum herb helps prostate symptoms and inhibits the growth of the prostate These French researchers first demonstrate that the herb Pygeum Africanum inhibits cellular changes that take place in prostate cells when the prostate is enlarging. They then perform a series of studies that show that Pygeum Africanum inhibits the enlargement of the prostate through blocking the activities of growth factors in the prostate while improving prostate function and bladder function helping to alleviate lower urinary tract symptoms seen in a man with a swollen prostate. They now state that Pygeum Africanum is ready for a large-scale extended clinical trial because of proven efficacy. The study appears in the March 30th, 2007 issue of the journal Neurology and Urodynamics.
