Guest guest Posted September 24, 2007 Report Share Posted September 24, 2007 Lycopene protects men from advanced prostate cancer High blood levels of Lycopene, the carotenoid that gives tomatoes their red color, decreases the risk of advanced prostate cancer, a dangerous condition, by 60%. This is according to the results of a European study involving 137,001 men from eight different countries. The men were followed on average for 6 years and the benefit was from the highest blood levels of Lycopene vs. the lowest.
