What is Laughter Yoga?

Laughter Yoga is a blend of yoga breath techniques and gentle laughter. It

is physically-oriented and does not rely on the mind at all. As a result, you

don't need to be happy, have a sense of humour, or even have a reason in

order to laugh. Laughter Yoga is based on the philosophy of " acting happiness " .

You learn to simulate laughter until it flows out like a fountain. It is

both relaxing and invigorating at the same time. Laughter Yoga develops your

inner spirit of laughter - also called the Joy of Laughter. Laughter Yoga is

also an aerobic form of exercise. One minute of laughter is equal to 10 minutes

on the rowing machine!

_Laughter Yoga_ (http://www.laughteryoga.org/) is the creation of Dr. Madan

Kataria, a physician from India, and his wife, Madhuri, a yoga teacher. The

movement began in 1995 with 5 people in the first Laughter Club and now has

over 5,000 Laughter Clubs around the world.
