Guest guest
This patient is very deficient. Never heard the complaint before but we all know its worse in pale skinned people. She is definitely blood xu at that weight, also probably has eating disorder. Longterm tonification and nourishing cooked food diet may help if it is not genetic. Guest guest
Try a modification of Gui Pi Tang to tonify lung, heart and spleen qi as well as blood. Perhaps by bringing up her qi and blood her affliction will lessen. Mark

Guest guest
I burn horribly and so do two of my children. ( I only have to be in the sun a very short time) So during the summer I make this salve-it's only good for about 4 days- but we use it up before that. This keeps my skin from peeling or blistering. 1/2 cup cucumber juice 1/2 aloe ver gel 10 drops vit E oil 4 drops lavendar oil 4 drops peppermint oil 4 drop eucalyptus oil Cut up cucumber and squeeze out the juice.Strain out pulp and seeds.Put all ingredients in blender, Blend well. Store in frig. If I don't have this on hand and need relief I use baking soda as Penny does.June What is the QUICKEST way to reduce the burning and sting of a very recentsunburn (on the face). Maybe a combo of the two? The coconut oil has sure worked for me (ingesting over time and applying topically). Was in the sun today for about 2 1/2 hours (FLORIDA heat...whew!) and didn't get burned at all. My Vit C intake is very moderate right now, so I would safely assume that it is the oil. I've never had one before, besides a little red that turns into a tan, but this is a little painful, and I went out and did it again today--over yesterday's sunburn. I didn't think I could burn. I found a note in the archives from Doc stating that Panther Piss works for sunburn, so I'm going to try that. I hope the vinegar in it doesn't sting. Guest guest
Thanks for the suggestions, Kristen and Lynette. I did apply some Panther Piss earlier, which felt good (too bad I don't have any aloe vera), and it's feeling a little better tonight. I think it really wouldn't have been so bad today, but I wore a different bra for a while this morning and the straps were right on the sunburn, so I think that rubbed it a little raw. And I figured out why I burned.... more of the lighter skin on my shoulder blades was exposed to the sun all day due to the cut of the new tank top I wore yesterday while putting in the garden. Thanks again! Cheryl

Guest guest
What has worked wonderfully for me is one ounce apple cider vinegar, one ounce aloe vera juice & 30 drops lavender essential oil. If it is a particularly fiery burn, add a couple of drops of peppermint for cooling. This mixture can be rubbed or sprayed on the areas 3-4 times a day. It reduces the pain & redness and helps prevent peeling, thereby keeping you tan. Nancy herbal remedies, " Mountainlady " <mountainlady@d...> wrote: > Okay, what's the best thing for sunburn? Guest guest
Last summer my sister had a very bad burn (1/4 inch scabs all over her back). She could not stand anyone to touch it and everything hurt. What her husband had her do is sit in lukewarm to cool water for as long as she wanted to. He'd come in and refresh the water every so often and bring her something to drink while she "enjoyed" her bath. In just a few days it healed remarkably and she said it was the only time she was virtually pain free. Within about an hour the red was completely gone, I kid you not For sunburn what I would do if a cucumber is not on hand would be mix aloe juice or gel, a few drops of calendula tincture, some st. john's wort oil and lavendar essential oil. Guest guest
Prevention: Eat a couple of tablespoons of tomato paste per day for about 3 months, as it reduces the damage done by sunburn, thanks to lycopene. Saw this successfully tested on The Truth About Food - BBC Science Unit. I noticed a product that Mike Adams sells - AstaZan. I had already bought some elsewhere for a family member who doesn't use cancer-causing sunscreens because he had contact dermatitis as a child after an ignorant teacher applied some to his skin. Well, he got through our southern hemisphere summer without burning despite working as a volunteer in a community organic garden. He is a red head. It may work out cheaper than a large supply of tomato paste too. One could easily get tired of such a daily dose! It contains astaxanthin, Vitamin E, lutein and GE free safflower oil. Oddly enough, the same programme above mentioned that eating spinach for its lutein content, for 3 months, increased a lady's macula by 10% - she had macula degeneration. The average improvement in the rest of the group was 17%. In one lady, there was no improvement, but there was nothing wrong with her eyes to start with. Afterthought: The cancer-causing sunscreens are promoted by the Cancer Society in NZ, to raise funds for their quest to find a cancer cure. ) All the best, Maracuja --- On Wed, 5/21/08, robert-blau <robert-blau wrote: robert-blau <robert-blau Sunburn , SymphonicHealth , oleander soup , never_do_harm_to_anyone Wednesday, May 21, 2008, 6:54 AM " A great summer tip from Michael...Hey, I just got one heck of a sunburn and I was told that mustard rubbed in the sunburn will take out the burn.
