Guest guest
Hi, I have a severe case of Fibromyalgia and went to see Dr. Lowe in Tulsa, Oklahoma, who has had 85 to 90% rate in curing this illness. She gave me specific instructions to radically change my diet, (no white flour, white sugar, dairy or excessive carbs, eat only organic foods when possible and drink 64 ounces a day of pure, bottled water) exercise daily doing weight bearing exercises and she prescribed for me to take Thyroid medication. She is actually a Chiropractor so she could only strongly suggest that my medical doctor, here in California, prescribe the meds for me. He was all for my going to Tulsa and doing all she suggested...until he realized she was a Chiropractor and not a medical physician. He only realized this AFTER I spent the money and went to Tulsa. Since he refused to even give the meds a try, Dr. Lowe suggested I try Raw Dessicated Thyroid Gland in place of the synthetic medication. I have no idea how effective this will be and but I'm hoping it will kick start me into some energy. I feel so very lathargic and have a hard time thinking most days. Even answering my email takes too much concentration unless I take a couple of Vicodin to get some energy and relieve my pain. I hate using Vicodin. I belong to the Fibromyalgia and someone there recently posted that her friend cured herself by taking several different supplements and vitamins. This is what she said she takes: Managese 5 mg. a day for the CFS that goes with FMS Malic Acid 600 mg. twice a day Magnesium 750-1000 mg. a day Super B Complex 100 mg. 3 times daily with food Vitamin B6 50 mg. a day Chromium 200 mcg a day Calcium 1500 mg. a day taken at bedtime(not the oyster shell kind) Co-Q10 75 mg. daily Alpha-lpoic Acid 50 mg. take in AM on empty stomach L-Lysine 500 mg. a day Vitamin D 400 mg. a day (Alot of calciums will include 400 mg. of D Colloidal Minerals 1 teaspoon daily I was thinking of trying this along with the Dessicated Thyroid Gland and I was wondering if any of you know anything about any of this and if it sounds like a good idea or a waste of money. At this point, I can't spend any more money needlessly (like any of us can) and it will be a real hardship to spend this but I am willing too if it will really work. Sorry for the long post but I have to write when I have the energy because most of the time, I don't. Thanks in advance for any help any of you can give. Fibromyalgia syndrome improved using a mostly raw vegetarian diet: An observational study http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articlerender.fcgi?tool=pubmed & pubmedid=1160202\ 6 In reading the paper there are several important points not to miss: 1) Almost total elimination of Omega 6 linoleic acid intake (NO veggie oils which convert into Omega 6 AA). 2) Boosted Omega 3 Alpha Linolenic LNA intake ~ 6 g per day (Converts into Omega 3 EPA). 3) Very low sat fat intake. 4) Very large intake of nutritionally dense veggies. Have you had Red Blood Cell fatty acid analysis done to check for elevated proinflammatory Omega 6 AA verus depressed anti-inflammatory Omega 3 EPA? http://www.gsdl.com/assessments/fattyacids/ http://www.gsdl.com/assessments/fattyacids/appguide Greg
