I've posted on several lists for help on adrenal insufficieny but no one seems to be familiar with it. From what my Dr. says, there are alot of people suffering from this problem and they aren't associating the symptoms with adrenals. I have ordered a product that has licorice in it. In my one of EO books, it says that Black Spuce is very supportive for adrenals. I started inhaling it before I go to bed and its made a big difference in my sleep. I will start applying it in a base oil so it can be absorbed. Terri

I have not tried kelp as it brings up another question. I don't have a thyroid. I first had surgery removing most of my hyperthyroid (hashimotos, graves, autoimmune, etc) about 20 yrs ago. About 8 yrs later, my thyroid flared up again and due to moving, found the only endocrinologist in town. He suggested nuclear medicine to get rid of that organ, with his words of " oh.. I have children take this.. " off I went like a lamb for slaughter, too ill to question the absurdity of this treatment. Thats back when I blindly trusted Drs. For anyone considering nuclear radiation to " fry " out your thyroid... BIG MISTAKE! You are given a high dose of I-131, usually 5,000-15,000 rad which doesn't include the diagnostic scan of 50-150 rad. Poisoning the body does not help it heal and can set you up for a serious issues down the road! What is the biggest fear when being overly radiated... Cancer, among others. Years after taking the I-131, I wanted to find out exactly what I had taken, amount, etc. I called and " tried " to talk with the Dr. in the nuclear med. dept at the hospital. When I started asking questions, he got very " upset " and wouldn't answer my questions or provide me with info about I-131. How can radiation be so bad for you one way and not another? His avoidance at answering my probing questions told me all I needed to know. I dumped that Dr. and found a new endo. Interesting enough, he said he would not have given me nuclear med. to treat my problem... he would have tried a less aggressive approach. Two Dr.s, same specialty practice, two thoughts of treatment. Many people suggest taking supplements to support the thyroid... if you have no thyroid, are things like seaweed, etc. going to work? If there is no thyroid to process this support, is the body still able to use it? Many questions... Terri
Guest guest
You can check adrenal gland function by taking your blood pressure while lying down, stand up and take pressure again, if the systolic falls its an indication of low adrenal function. I've been taking an herbal formula from Herbs First that contains Mullein Leaf, Licorice Root, Siberian Ginseng Root, Gotu Kola herb, Hawthorn Berries, Lobelia Herb, Cayenne Pepper and Ginger Root. I take this along with " Kelp-T " for thyroid and it does seem to help but don't get in a hurry, with herbs its a slow building process. Guest guest
Chris, what did you take/do for your adrenals? Linda Linda Bumpas Light Beam Expressions Web Design Services to Help Your Light Shine Linda auroastra <auroastra Saturday, November 11, 2006 9:42:06 AM Re: convincing physicians Hi Lynn, Just joined...am a bit late in commenting here then but I have to back up what you say here completely. I was diagnosed with adrenal exhaustion by an integrative doc (and finally got help from him!!!!) after receiving no help from a neurologist and general practitioner who both just about ruined what was left of my endocrine system with SSRIs. My integrative doc went the nutritional/ supplement route. No, most traditional docs do not listen and I found the ones I dealt with rather arrogant...they didn't 'hear' me when I told them about the godawful side effects of the drugs they tried to push on me (adrenal problems aren't friendly with most pharmaceuticals) . I have found an endodontist who respects my choices and will work with my integrative doc but he's a rare one. /Chris , lynn paulino <lynnsprinkles@ ...> wrote: > > Yeah - but when it comes to EBV, CFS and Fibro they > ignore us because they don't believe in it or > something.
