Also, what is the amount one would use per day, 2 to 3 ounces? I bot 50 lbs of the " Organic " Golden flaxseed for about $25, The UPS charge was about $25. Since then many writers say the brown is equally good, Albert Lea sells the Brown for about $13 for 50 lbs. I have grown flax on the very poor clay soil in my yard so it must not need much fertilizer; therefore most of it may be organic by default. I forgot to suggest that you check with the local feed dealers; as there is published research on flaxseed improving the vitamin content of Eggs when fed to Chickens; and another writer said that ADM was contracting for Flaxseed to add to their feed lines. I try to eat six tablespoons of ground flaxseed daily. Recently I suffered from a raging sore throat and tried putting a large clove of garlic in the coffee grinder with four Tbspns of Flaxseed. Had to scrape it out of the grinder. Put it in a cup and added a little water than ate it like mush- this is one of the few ways I have found to eat raw crushed Garlic without it burning my tongue! Also tried putting in Whipping Cream in place of water- interesting. Took that morning and night, Now my Sinus infection is gone, and I am taking it once a day. We make cookies with bananas and Flaxseed, It is OK to bake it at 300 Deg. according to the Flax Council. Also try the FlaxseedOil2- for more info; but please stick to flax on that list.
