In fact I just got back a while ago from the HFS (health food store) to investigate the numerous products on the shelf. A few questions if you don't mind? Which is the best " type " of product to use for a female with low levels of estrogen and progesterone? The caps, tincture or transdermal creams? I'm currently using progesterone cream (transdermal). If levels of progesterone are efficient then estrogen can be produced from progesterone. Is this enough? Then there's borage oil and evening primrose oil. Although borage contains more GLA I've heard the primrose is standard for the hormonal system??? Again, but in regard to herbs, Chaste berry formulations usually take over a year to balance the hormonal system. Black Cohosh on the other hands tends to lead in popularity with many people as well as sustain it's position as the most productive and active herb for hormonal balance? I'd like to know what you think? Happy Holidays, Kandi
Guest guest
Hi Kandi, Well, I'm trying to get pregnant, not trying hormone replacement naturally, so my view may be a bit different, but I'll tell you what I do know. The pro cream is probably the fastest way to supplement -- it absorbs nearly immediately and stores in your tissues over time. You are right -- the vitex takes a long time, but it is an interesting herb b/c it doesn't " supplement " -- it teaches your body, through the pituitary gland, to balance the hormones. My mum uses the black cohosh and loves it. She also uses the pro cream and soy, as well as EPO. My guess is that you'll know if the cream alone is enough. If you have any symptoms, they will improve or disappear. I wish I could help more! I could probably get you pregnant, lol! Guest guest
Hi Debbie! You are so incorrect...you have certainly helped me more than anyone else I've inquired to on the Internet about this problem! I cannot thank you enough for your kindness and prompt answer. I like the route the Vitex takes up in the body and will probably begin supplementation. I'd also need a much quicker response from supplemental hormone treatment and may begin Black Cohosh as well in the form of a supplement called Remifemin. Is taking both Vitex and Remifemin probable and safe? I've opted for the Borage Oil in place of EPO. My reason for choosing the Borage is due to it being the highest in GLA. Now, I've heard both Borate and EPO work fine but EPO targets the hormonal system? What is your opinion on this? Again, Debbie thank you! And keep wishing...I bet you end up pregnant next wish come true! Kandi
