Guest guest
OK- can someone tell me the answers to me in laymans terms, lol? My brain is tired from processing so much info all the time! OK, so I have 2 spoons of ground flax daily in my morning smoothie- I love the texture it adds! If I do this, should I also use flax oil? And what about taking fish oils and EPO? Do I need them all? And if so why or why not? To better answer these questions specifically- here is my basic health run-down... -I am female -age 29 -I have had 2 children and currently BF and have had regular cycles for several months now -tend towards low progesterone and use natural cream 2 weeks a month -am working on candida and tend towards constipation (but not so much since working on the candida) -have anxiety/panic attacks (I believe are due to a bit of stress combined with mitral valve prolapse) -fairly high metabolism, feel the need to eat often -weigh 145lbs, at 5'9 " (recently lost 15lbs with the change in diet- remove most sugar, white flour and dairy) -have hypoglycemic tendencies -low energy levels, tend to need a nap by noon, can hardly stay awake if I do not nap (I try and nap with my 13 month old) What else is good to know? Thanks to all! Guest guest
Sindea This is what I have learned that works for me so far. The heart palpitations/stress attacks could be hormonal. I have worked out that mine occur around ovulation and just before menstruation. They used to occur a lot more when I was eating food that upset my system. They usually only occur now at the aforementioned times. I have a slow metabolism, but I am very thin. My thinness is not due to my metabolism, but my diet. I lost a lot of weight over the years due to stupid candida diets! I found that BF took the stuffing out of me and I was very tired. Friends also said they were the same. Normal ones, not candida afflicted! I have a tendency toward hypoglycaemia. Goes with the package of candida, as a lot of people have the same problem. Once again, could be hormonally affected. When I went off grains, my blood sugars went berserk. I felt terrible, and my heart fluttered terribly as well. After 3 days, I came right. I have been pretty much ok. since. I do need to eat often as well, or I can still get hypo. I think you don't need to take extra Flax oil if you are having ground flax seeds. I don't anyway. I do take Calcium and magnesium as this helps with the central nervous system. I tend to feel tense and nervy without it. I don't take much other than that anymore. I have learnt over the years ( I am now 100) .... no, I just sound it, I am 39 actually... that you can waste so much on supplements. I do give my kids Usanimals though. I try and eat well to get natural sources of Vitamins and minerals, not synthetic like a lot of Vitamins. Hope this helps you. The fight for health is a hard one. There are no easy answers I am afraid. Just try what you feel could be helpful. I tend to wait when something comes into " fashion " , and if people still rave about it after several months, I then decide to give it a go or not. let them spend a fortune and see first! If I do this, should I also use flax oil? NO, you will get plenty of Omega 3 LNA from the flax. > And what about taking fish oils and EPO? Do I need them all? And if so why or why not? To better answer these questions specifically- here is my basic health run-down... I you eat 1 - 2 fatty fish meals a week, then no. As far as EPO, eating fatty fish and / or taking fish oil will boost Omega 6 DGLA levels (this is what the body converts EPO into) by inhibiting conversion of Omega 6 DGLA into the undesirable form Omega 6 AA. It is the Omega 3 EPA in the fish oils which does this magic trick. > -I am female > -age 29 > -I have had 2 children and currently BF and have had regular cycles for several months now > -tend towards low progesterone and use natural cream 2 weeks a month > -am working on candida and tend towards constipation (but not so much since working on the candida) VCNO will help to kill the candida. > -have anxiety/panic attacks (I believe are due to a bit of stress combined with mitral valve prolapse) Probable due to low Omega 3 EPA & DHA. > -fairly high metabolism, feel the need to eat often > -weigh 145lbs, at 5'9 " (recently lost 15lbs with the change in diet- remove most sugar, white flour and dairy) > -have hypoglycemic tendencies Again VCNO will help as it provides direct cellular energy without spiking glucose or energy. > -low energy levels, tend to need a nap by noon, can hardly stay awake if I do not nap (I try and nap with my 13 month old) Hi Sindea, Again VCNO will help as it spares liver glycogen stores (body burns VCNO instead of the liver's glycogen stores) and thus you will keep higher glycogen stores to fill in the lean times between meals, not feel so tired or have hypo events (assuming you are not eating high GI carbs). ======================== Good Health & Long Life, Greg Watson, http://optimalhealth.cia.com.au gowatson USDA database (food breakdown) http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/ PubMed (research papers) http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi DWIDP (nutrient analysis) http://www.walford.com/dwdemo/dw2b63demo.exe Patch file for above http://www.walford.com/download/dwidp67u.exe KIM (omega analysis) http://ods.od.nih.gov/eicosanoids/KIM_Install.exe
