Lavender and Geranium

My wife took a bath the other night and added 6 drops of lavender and 2 drops of

Geranium Rose for a backache and to relax. We found that the Geranium Rose

overpowered the Lavender. Does this mean anything? The lavender is Tisserand,

good quality. The geranium another good brand.

Also, for therapeutic use, what is the differance between Geranium Rose and

Geranium?

Hello Eric

Different Essential Oils have different strengths or volume of

scent...Geranium is a very musty type scent and overpowers a blend

quickly, even 2 little drops was enough to overpower the

Lavender...nothing wrong with this of course if you like the smell of

Geranium :)

There are many oils that can be overpowering and only a drop is

necessary to get the desired effect...Clary Sage and Lemongrass come to

my mind as I think of strong smelling EO's..So when combining EO's go

lightly on the heavier scents :)

Geranium and Geranium Rose can be used interchangebly, they have the

same therapeutic effect but rose geranium obviously has more of a rosy

smell..no duh :)

Hope that helps
