Guest guest
Hello Josef. Regarding your efforts to help your daughter: You might consider taking her to a licensed acupuncturist/herbologist with at least several years of pediatric experience (I don't know where you are located but there are simple ways of finding such practitioners). The first step is to get a correct, workable diagnosis from the practitioner... and have him or her explain it to you. At that point you would want to ask the practitioner to suggest channels or point combinations that would be appropriate for you to focus on at home (you said you're doing shiatsu). Your daughter's diagnosis could very well be multi-faceted: her developmental delay might, for instance, be related to a " kidney jing deficiency " and this deficiency might be related to " wind stirring upward, " which we westerners recognize as tremors of all kinds. Kids can respond well to acupuncture (I know of a little girl who sat still heroically and patiently several times a week as the acupuncturist needled up and down her spine... she understood that these treatments were helping to control her tremors). Herbs can be helpful too: there are many ways of approaching her condition herbally. Remember this, however: while herbs can heal powerfully, they can be harmful when used ill-advisedly. Can your practitioner assure you there are no contraindications related to your daughter's current medications? Can he or she put you in touch with other patients in a similar situation? The answer should be yes. Your efforts are heroic. I wish you the best.
Guest guest
Dear Anukki, Thank you for your question about Louise Hay's work. Is there more than this? It is true that she deals with the metaphysical meanings behind our physical dis-eases, such as the examples you gave. However, she has also written a book called " Heal Your Life " . I highly recommend it. This book is the basis for the Louise Hay Teacher training and her philosophy. I have been offering a very powerful and life changing 2 day workshop for the past 3 years. The " point of power is always in the present moment " is one of my favorite powerpoints in this philosophy. Namaste.
Guest guest
Hi Sharron, Thanks for the info. I have a question (I am so new to aromatherapy I squeak!) How many drops to how much oil? Does it matter what oil I use? I have some Jojoba oil, would that be ok. My daughter is also hyperactive, plus I believe puberty is also a factor. Most of the behavior is due to phenobarbitol. It is good when it works, but it is not working now, she is having seizures, plus the attitude is awful. I cannot put her on any ADD meds, because they tend to cause seizures. She has just gotten off of the Ketogenic diet and it did help with seizures and moods too, but it is only a temp. diet. Any suggestions for insomonia? Thanks so much for the info, I will put it to test as soon as I get a reply on how much eo & carrier oil. Karen
