Guest guest
Hi Frank and everyone Oh, I just realised I'm about to answer something that has probably been discussed while I've been away, but here's my two cents worth: Frank wrote: " How much can one apply at one time " This is such a good point. Just think - if you had a bad cold, you might think of having a bath with 15 drops of essential oils in it, then do a steam inhalation to clear your head, take some drops orally to boost your immune system, vapourise some in your room, and carry a Kleenex around with more drops to inhale during the day. And a compress for your throbbing headache. And a chest rub. The list goes on! This is quite dangerous and you could then end up with palpitations if you overdo the eucalyptus, or liver damage. I personally think a total amount of 15-20 drops per day is ample for a healthy adult. This would have to be less for an aromatherapist though - as a therapist there is a certain amount of absorption through the skin of the hands and through inhalation during the treatments that you give during the day. Overload makes you feel quite sick. Now I'm going to read all the piled-up mails to see what others have said. Helen in Cape Town
