Guest guest
JF asked this a couple weeks ago, but no one answered. I really need to know more about this. Helen? Anybody? --- " J. Cloves, > lavender or tea tree? We know that many volatile compounds are very dangerous to the liver when inhaled. Anything you inhale will get to the liver and act upon it and be acted upon by it. So anybody with liver problems needs to know the effect of EOs on the liver. Some herbal medicines are beneficial to the liver. So it seems reasonable that some EOs are beneficial to the liver function (these are called " hepatic " ). As I understand it, rosemary and lemon are among the best hepatics. Others include carrot seed, celery seed, peppermint, and cypress*(?). Now, for someone with hepatitis, it gets more complicated which oils to use, because you need two actions: antiviral as well as hepatic. I like lemon a lot because it has both properties.) For antiviral treatment of hepatitis C virus, I have been using frankincense and tea tree oil. I am perplexed about the caution that oregano oil can damage the liver. How do you know? It is one of the strongest antivirals, so could it help against the hepatitis C virus? But how do you know when to use an antiviral against HCV and when to withhold it because of danger to the liver? If anyone knows which EOs are dangerous to the liver, please post them here. I have been through a lot of books telling of health cautions with EOs and so far have not seen any cautions concerning liver damage. *Cypress has been listed in places as hepatic, but its basic property is vasoconstrictor. That would be the opposite action of the other hepatics, which serve as cholagogues (increasing bile flow, hence assisting liver function & detox). A vasoconstrictor would probably lessen bile flow. So how is it hepatic? ===== menuo sauluZe vede pirma pavasareli The Moon married the Sun In the first springtime Talk to your friends online with Messenger. http://im.
