Guest guest
Hi Sue and Yannic, I too am a sufferer of CFS/Fibromyalgia. I found great relief from naturopathic detoxification which included a raw food diet, steam bath, mud bath and pack, oil massages, salt water enemas etc., spread over a period of 15 days. I suffered from acute diarrhoea during this time which my ND said was a part of the detox. I also try homeopathy and am usually prescribed remedies like Bryonia/Rhus Tox/Baptisia/Eup Perf/Nat Sulph/Thuja etc. My hom. doctor also advises me to take Vit C 1000mg for a few weeks now and then. She also advises me not to interfere with skin rashes that appear from time to time. I try some light freehand exercises everyday after my morning walk. I take three glasses of water upon rising, including a glass of lemon water. The days I feel excessively fatigued I take two spoonful of honey in a half cup of water. If you want you can mix the honey in the glass of lime water and add a little of pepper to it. I take the honey separately because I love the taste of it. As per ayurveda CFS etc is due to the accumulation of toxins/heavy metals in the muscles/tissues, therefore detoxification is the prime treatment. You should also realise that the occasional fever/cold/dysentery/diarrhoea/skin problems are the bodys effort at natural detoxification. Take adequate rest and plenty of fluids during this time. Consult a holistic healer if you cannot bear it. Never try to suppress with heavy doses of antibiotics. Like Hen I too avoid animal food, and also junk food. Why put toxins into your body when you need to eliminate them? Remember, your food should be 80% alkaline and 20% acidic. Google the net for an alkaline/acidic food chart. Keep your liver and kidney functioning well, with yoga and natural remedies if needed. Take deep breaths or do some breathing exercises everyday, this will supply your body with oxygen and clear the blood of impurities. Take care to see that you are not constipated. Ensure that sweating is normal. Avoid vehicle smoke. Avoid injecting anything directly into the blood stream. Check up if your present medications are a source of the problem. Check up for worms in the intestines. This could be behind your cognitive problems. Regards,Jagannath. --Hi Sue,I have CFS/CFIDS since 1990 and my husband has Fibromyalgia since 1995.Our main problems were similar to yours: exhaustion, muscle pains, concentrationproblems. Both of us are doing soooooo much better since we went on a gluten, dairy andsoya free diet in August 2004.If you (or anyone else) are interested, feel free to contact me and I'll sendyou a number of links and answer your questions. All the best,Yannic -Sue___________ Sent: Saturday, July 01, 2006 11:46 PMAnyone here have CFS/FibromyalgiaHi, I'm new here. Guest guest
CFS and Fibro can be caused by low thyroid which can be caused by numerous toxins..Dr Lowe has done extensive work on this. www.drlowe.com. Taking T3 got me out of bed and functioning. The http://www.fibroandfatigue.com doing similar work with thyroid and other hormones. Toxins can be a big part of this particulary mercury.Mercury targets and damages the thyroid.Standard thyroid tests are not adequate to diagnose this, so many people think they have been tested for thyroid and that it is not a problem because their drs only do the standard TSH test which is worthless in todays toxic environment. Anyone with amalgam fillings has more mercury than those without the fillings.Eliminating dairy and wheat helps due to the allergies and weakened immune systems caused by mercury.Autism which many believe is caused by mercury responds very well to wheat and dairy free diet. Also anyone with mercury will have Candida causing digestive problems etc.Candida is the bodies way of defending itself against mercury in the gut.I don't know anyone with mercury that doesn't have a thyroid problem and Candida. Mercury also sets people up for numerous other infections like Lyme.It is a very complicated issue and I do not recommend anyone trying to detox without educating themselves and communicating with others because you can make yourself so much sicker.Drs have made a lot of people much sicker with their detox protocols.I've had liver damage for 5 yrs due to this.So please join lists talk to as many people as you can and read all you can on this.Andy Cutler has a great book on Amalgam Illness which outlines mercury toxicity extremely well. Guest guest
Hi Yannic, I'm also new to the group and suffer from Fibromyalgia (diagnosed last year) could you or anyone please send me information on the gluten, wheat and soy diets. I really want to get a hold of this thing naturally. I have suffered with this illness for aleast 10 tens years, after being told over and over again it's all in my head, or it's just a part of getting older. I have stage 2 kidney drug induces disease, chronic anemia, brain fog, constant chronic pain and fatigue and about 70 pounds of extra weight, so this can't simply just be all in my head. Guest guest
Chantal, How do they find the low thyroid, if they can't find it with the routine blood tests? Thank you! Guest guest
My fibro was gone in a few weeks after increasing my thyroid meds.I still had ongoing issues with fatigue I believe due to liver and mercury problems but getting the right thyroid med....T3/cytomel has given me my life back.It is a very complicated issue but worth the trouble if you want to feel good again. When T3 the active thyroid hormone, is not reaching the cells, the effects are ultimately catastrophic; with no energy to fuel them, the cells are unable to perform their many and varied functions. This produces a huge range of " non- specific " symptoms, as all systems gradually deteriorate; low BP, headaches, repeated infections, exhaustion, skin problems, fibromyalgia, food and chemical intolerances, allergies, digestive disturbances, chronic constipation, depression, mood swings - all are common, and are most often put down to some fault in the psychological make-up of the patient, rather than to a flaw in the practitioners' methodology. The lack of metabolism adversely affects every single function in the body, and a downward spiral inexorably follows. The only way back to health for these patients is to get to the root of the problem via more relevant testing; if a patient has signs and symptoms of illness and test results are negative, you aren't performing the right tests. A complete thyroid panel with free T3, free T4 ,reverse T3, and thyroid antibodies + body temp are necessary to find a thyroid problem and all most drs do is a TSH. This site explains the thyroid issue in depth http://www.drwells.net/nutrition/topics/Hypothyroid.htm http://www.eatingalive.com/monthlymatsen.php?matsencommentsmonth=matsencomments0\ 409.html & BeenSubmitted=TRUE & Submit=Enter Let me know if you have other questions.
