Guest guest
This is in reference to Sunil Bhattacharya’s post. Please be aware that buttermilk or curds from skim milk still contain excess protein not required by us antibiotic residues from antibiotics given to the cow. concentration of pesticide residues far more than plant foods (unfortunately even human breast milk has this) earthworms or urea added to preserve the milk in the absence of refrigerated vans in India hormones - both natural to milk and those injected (oxytocin) which force the cow to produce more milk. Oxytocin usage is banned by the govt but ampules of oxytocin are available everywhere and it is very widely used in India pus – each glass of milk contains an average of seven drops of pus because of inflammation of the udders due to being milked by humans homogenisation breaks down the fat molecules so that they are more easily absorbed – causing obesity (2% milk still has a lot of fat – whole milk contains a little more than 3 % fat, the rest being water, protein and lactose) tuberculosis bacteria – many cows and buffaloes in India are infected due to the close and unhygienic living conditions. This is part of the reason even vaccinated people are getting TB these days. stool contamination (see how well the cows are washed before milking) salmonella and listeria bacilli. Having milk products instead of milk and feeling safe is like eating pastries (or Horlicks and Boost ) and not plain sugar and being under the delusion that you will not suffer from the bad effects of sugar! Kisan Mehta is absolutely right about avoiding the 5 whites. Dr Nandita Shah
Guest guest
You wrote skimmed milk, but anyway, but anyway where do you find ‘pure milk like what our ancestors had?’ If you use unskimmed milk you will have all the stuff I wrote about plus excess fat and cholesterol. Anyway our ancestors had very little milk compared to us because - There was no refrigeration. Each family had just a few cows, all of which were not lactating. Artificial insemination was not used, so the cows could not be impregnated within 2 months of delivery like they are today. Naturally a cow does not get pregnant every year. Nowadays cows are impregnated so frequently that they cannot bear childbirth after 4 – 5 births and so are slaughtered/ left to die at the young age of 6- 7 years. A few go to goshalas. An unexploited cow lives 27 years. Calfs were given their mother’s milk and anything that remained was drunk by humans. Today its the opposite. They did not eat cheese, ice creams, milk sweets like we do today. If Krishna were alive today he would not have to steal milk – there is an abundant supply. Nandita Shah Dear Madam, I was talking about taking curd from pure milk like what our ancestors had and that too from cow's milk.
