Guest guest
Ayurvedic texts also have written about milk as a ‘white poison’. However today many ayurvedic medicines contain heavy metals, and milk, deters the absorption of these. There are lots of options for a 4 month old if you are really interested. The Israelis give sesame milk, the Sri Lankans coconut milk and the Asians soya milk. Perhaps the best would be a combination of all 3 or alternating. Also dairy free formulas are also available. Very much interested to read such texts, can you kindly provide references? > There are lots of options for a 4 month old if you are really interested. > The Israelis give sesame milk, the Sri Lankans coconut milk and the Asians > soya milk. Not interested in formulas, or processed soy milk. soy attracts same criticism as cow milk. Will try coconut milk as the last alternative. Thanks for the alternatives. Guest guest
No I can’t give Ayurvedic references to milk as a white poison, but even today any Ayurved will tell you that milk causes mucous formation. Also Jain scriptures have written about milk and milk products as vigai and mahavigai and in the important fasts like ambil milk products are not allowed. If you ask any knowledgeable Jain monk, he will tell you this. But almost every Jain Monk and all Jains today are the highest consumers of milk and milk products. Most of the Jain monks after 60 are suffering from heart disease, hypertension, asthama, cancer and diabetes, and some even obesity, despite travelling constantly on foot like in the past. Guest guest
Dr. Bhate, My teacher often recommended almond milk or walnut milk for babies. I do not know if walnuts are available in India though. Possibly other nuts would also work. Breast milk is always preferable if available. I think I mentioned before that split milk or whey is very healthy for infants and even older children. Guest guest
Despite what you write, it is interesting to note that most of the support and motivation for Cow protection, creating Goushalas, Panch Gavya medicines etc is coming from Jain community and monks. It may be difficult for monks to accept that their problems are due to white poison. Gujarat, Rajastan, M.P. and U.P. being the leading states. New Gaushalas are now being started in A.P. also, and Karnataka farmers have started looking after post menopausal cows to make manure, which is the next revolution in organic farming. Organic crops are fetching almost 50% more price. Coffee plantations in Karnataka and Tamilnadu have set examples for Cow protection for economics. If one is dreaming of healthy india, it it can be realized only through agriculture and dairy, herbs can cure diseases, but health is obtained only through food, water, air and love. it is not absence of disease, but equilibrium of body-mind-soul is the health. , Nandita Shah <shahnandi wrote: > Also Jain scriptures have written about milk and milk products as vigai and > mahavigai and in the important fasts like ambil milk products are not > allowed.
