Yes it is awful! Once I walked into the soon to be quality managers office and he had a very nasty wallpaper on his monitor related to bill Clinton and Monica L. (nudity) I was appalled that anyone in the work place would have something like this on their computer, let alone a mager. But, I was completely dismissed when I brought this up as abusive and totally inappropriate in the workplace. This person was the step son of the owner if that tells you what type of reception my disapproval met. He was actually supported in a jovial way. As an ata boy/what's wrong with it. I was completely discounted! Had I not been the one that actually researched and drafted the companies sexual harassment policy, I may not have known just how non compliant this was and may not have went straight to the top (owner) with my complaint. That incident occur ed shortly before I made my decision to leave that hell hole. It was the best decision I could have made for my self in more ways than one.

 

An no, I don't think it would be any better. The policies concerning this type of matter in many cases is simply window dressing.
