Sir,

Post-mortem of Team India!

Though with a heavy heart, let me speak out. All that

super hype that was being shown all over the print and

electronic media impending the world cup had created

that unwanted and unwarranted sense of complacency in

the Team India that made them lose the match.

The yogic secret of winning is the mood of equanimity

that keeps the head cool and makes one play with full

confidence, not over-confidence which is called

complacency.

From day one of the hyper-hyping, I was feeling too

much derisive, thinking of this very day of hate and

burning of effigies of the players who failed

miserably at playing for the World Cup.

Yoga teaches equanimity. That was no where to be seen.

There are simple yogic exercises for strengthening

the spine. If your spinal health is at the optimum,

you can perform better and no one can defeat you.

For the last 15 years or more I have been trying to

tell the BCCI about the simple five-minute spinal yoga

that shapes up the entire physical and mental health.

If you are mentally strong, you perform much better

with full concentration. That confidence with full

concentration was no where to be seen among the Team

India that failed miserably at the World Cup matches.

I have had not only written to the BCCI several times

in the past, but I have also demonstrated the simple

spinal yoga to the former Chairman of the Cricket

Selection Team Mr. Chandu Borde when he had a bad

back.

Sachin Tendulkar's sister in Pune had also contacted

me before Sachin was to go abroad for treatment of his

bad back. But it was too late as by that time, Sachin

had already flown out for treatment abroad.

Had he learnt that simple five-minute do-it-yourself

spinal yoga, Sachin could have avoided his subsequent

sports injuries for whch he had to be treated again

and again abroad.

But, as the famous saying in Hindi goes, " Nakkarkhane

mei tooti ki awaaz kaun sunta hai " (who would listen

to the lowly trumpet in a big noisy orchestra?), we

are where we were in the sports field internationally,

achieving precious little not only in cricket but even

in the Olympic Games.

Hope the BCCI chief Sharad Pawar and the union

minister for sports are listening.
