May I ask how it was determined that you had leaky gut? Was this a regular dr?

Re: No Luck

One Love,

I have been diagnosed with leaky gut syndrome, as well as rosacea. How do you

heal it? My doctor gave me a metagenics cleanse powder and glutamine but I only

did it one day, by 2pm I was in bed with a killer headache and heart

palpitations and exhaustion. I didn't know what was in the powder that made me

feel so awful, my hair started falling out the next day. He also told me to

avoid all the foods I had antibodies to for 3 months. I had antibodies to white

sugar, yeast, chocolate, nuts many vegetables and fruits all dairy and grains

except corn. I only made it 18 days. If I'm not perfect do I have to keep

starting over? I have noticed that eating a lot of these foods makes my flushing

much worse.

I have just completed my 7th liver cleanse. The first 5 had no success (no

stones) whatsoever. I then had an appt with Andreas Moritz who gave me

what he called " the big guns' protocol. The 6th cleanse produced about 20

smallish stones. The last cleanse produced nothing..at all!...I follow the

Pitta

reducing diet, my rosacea has not improved..except for the laser treatment I

did last year..that did help alot. I've always avoided certain food triggers. A

week ago I started having some mild soreness in what I think is my liver, a

friend thinks it's my kidneys but I don't have any other signs of a bladder

infection..in fact have never had any bladder issues...so I decided to do this

last cleanse..without success.

I am stumped.

Dear VT

Thank you for sharing your experience. I admire your

persistence. I take the attitude that for every

problem there is a solution.

Based on your experience, I highly suggest you see a

doctor of Chinese medicine for a precise diagnosis of

your specific pattern of imbalance. This requires

pulse and tongue analysis, plus health, diet, and

emotional history. There is a reason for your experience

and it can be determined through diagnosis.

Chinese medicine excels at diagnosing specific

imbalances. Internal organs are the main focus in

relation to health. The model of nature is used to

identify imbalances. There can be numerous types of

imbalances with names foreign to western medicine like

liver fire rising, damp spleen, kidney yin defiency,

etc. Two good books on this subject are The Web That

Has No Weaver by Ted Kaptchuk and Between Heaven and

Earth by Harriet Beinfield

Your experience reminds me of a person I corresponded

with who was not having much results with cleansing

and diet modification. After numerous emails, I found

out the person had candida, leaky gut syndrome,

compulsive behavior disorder, in addition to rosacea

and acne.

Discovering the person has leaky gut syndrome was key.

This changed the approach to restoring balance. Leaky

gut syndrome allows food to be passed through the

intestines directly into the blood stream. The number

one concern in this case is to first repair the

intestines from leaking with specific herbs, otherwise

cleansing and diet may not be effective.

If you feel inclined, it would beneficial for all of

us to hear what specific pattern of imbalance you have

according to Chinese medicine. This may change the

healing strategy. I would be happy to make suggestions

after hearing of your diagnosis. Make sure to have the

doctor identify the details of your pattern of

imbalance. I would suggest continuing with the

basics of cleansing, diet modification and walking.

Your persistence will restore your health. Please

keep us posted.

Kind regards

Yes my doctor is a regular MD originally an orthopedic surgeon. He became

interested in alternative types of healing when he found that chiropractic and

yoga worked so well for some people. He practices holistic medicine on those

that are up for it. Upon my rosacea diagnosis I had allergy testing: scratch

test, injections and antibodies. The antibody test was IgE(allergies) and IgG.

The only antibodies I had were IgG to foods which means that my body reacts to

those foods like an outside attack such as a virus. I had an unusually high

number leading to the diagnosis. I had a severe case of Ghiardia about 6 years

ago which can lead to leaky gut syndrome.

Hi Carol

You can find information on Leaky Gut Syndrome at the

following two links.

http://www.wrc.net/phyto/autoimmune.html

http://www.gsdl.com/news/1999/delete/19990227b.blk/index.blk.html

Hair loss can have numerous factors. The western

perspective has factors like hormones, genetics, and

nutrition.

The eastern perspective has factors like internal

energy balance and condition of internal organs.

Massaging the scalp with coconut oil is one general

treatment. The protocols for this group are also a

plus. I would use a shower filter if there is

cholorine in your water.

To determine which factors may be causing your

condition would require the diagnosis from a doctor of

Chinese medicine.

Best regards

know if you have it?

Also, any thoughts on hair falling out?

thanks
