Dear all

Have a nice day.

Is there any drug which enhances spermatogenesis? I have some patients

who are suffering from oligospermia and one is suffering from

azoospermia.

If any one among you has treated any patient of same problem, please

let me informed. I need drugs in crude form and I will prefer from

plant origin or animal origin.

Regards

Dear Hakim Ubaid,

Before you hunt for medicines treating oligospermia, please try to rule out the

existing causes of oligospermia, which is very important. Very stressful daily

routine is one of the most prominent causes in these days. Other important cause

could be addiction to tobacco, alcohol or other habit forming abusive

substances. If these causes persist, your treatment canot yield results inspite

of best of medicines.

As for azoospermia, in Ayurveda or in any other medical science, it means that

there is no production / availability of sperm in the semen sample. If the sperm

producing cells in the testis are not working due to some fault or injury, it is

very difficult to medically induce to produce sperms. If the sperm is obstructed

in the carrying channels (vas deferens) or the tube is severed during family

planning operation (vasectomy), operation can be tried to remove the blockade.

However these efforts are too not always successful.

There are many good sperm-booster medicines in Ayurveda. But they have to be

used in accordance with the patient's Prakruti (constitution) and cannot be

generalised. Lastly as a responsible global citizen, we should remember that

animals are a part of nature and are not originally elements of medicine. It

would be better to respect their existence and avoid their use whenever and

wherever good herbal alternatives are available. Albeit Ayurveda has mentioned

the use of animal parts but it should be our judicious choice not to kill

animals for their body-parts as in case of rhinos for their horns (aphrodiciac)

and tigers for their penis-genital organ (aphrodiciac). Ayurveda has also

mentioned the properties of various animals and insects, but do we include them

in our diet? I think you will get the gist.

By the way, where do you practice?
