Guest guest
Hi All, I've been struggling with how to create an herbal formula for someone who has both opposing symptoms and would like some suggestions. Patient has acute apathy, complacency and feels to be quite " stuck-in-the-mud " . But also shows daily resentment and critical blaming of others and self. Both Pitta and Kapha imbalance seems to be equal. Should there be two different formulas? Or one formula that has opposing qualities of light, sharp and cool? I would gladly be happy to see any suggestions McFarland
Guest guest
hi. i guess u already know we need more details about that person. but u can try to solve the problems one at a time. find out which was first disbalanced , which is more severly affected and start with that one. i don't know that person, but maybe u don't need to reduce pitta and kapha, but only to make them sattva. also increasing vata would reduce both pitta and kapha.i would start by reducing kapha wich gives him/her apathy. pitta disbalance is not so nice for others but at least your patient will be more dynamic and motivated to do something for getting out of this mood. good luck niki_mcfarland <nmcfarland <snip> Patient has acute apathy, complacency and feels to be quite " stuck-in-the- mud " . Guest guest
Dear McFarland, All the symptoms you have described under MANAS-ROGA. When you have symptoms of two doshas combined, first sort out the medicines for the group of disease you are treating ie Manas-roga in this case. Then find out which herbs are having common properties to treat Pitta and Kapha Dosha. Select the proper combination according to your clinical experience. There are many Ayurvedic combinations which have herbs with opposing qualities, but they seemingly do not oppose one another, but compliment and balance each other. Guest guest
This post is from several yrs ago.Was there any reply to it? Maybe the energy all going out in pitta derangement is causing the apathy. What is a good recipe for apathy?
