Guest guest
I have been a member of this group for quite some time. For someone uninitiated into Ayurveda, the discussions have always been an eye-opener in many ways. That prompted me to make friends offline, with people seriously pursuing Ayurveda, in and around Mumbai. As an observer I noticed that, one of the reasons for underdevelopment of Ayurveda is lack of auxiliary services. If am right in my understanding, it is not a science of pills, but encompasses almost every aspect of life. Like, a vaidya, theoretically, does not believe that, his medicine would work regardless of what lifestyle the patient follows. Another aspect is diagnostic tests. Nadi pariksha is one part of it. Allopathy has developed so many tests that at times, they come up with contradictory findings to each other. A vaidya can come to better understanding about the health of a patient, if there is some observation period. Like, the stool and urine test in Allopahy can use a small measure of both these human residuals, but a vaidya would need to examine it more closely and with many more parameters like visual, smell, content, shape etc. Such facilities are not developed or may be underdeveloped, especially so in India. Networking of serious Ayurveda practitioner could be a beginning towards bridging this gap. ( this is the thinking of someone uninitiated in Ayurveda, so there is every scope of it being partially or entirely wrong) Recently, I visited one Ayurveda practitioner, Kaka Gangal who is based at Bharjewadi, near Pali - Sudhagad in Raigad district of Maharashtra. He has ancestral hilly land on which he is trying to redevelop the forest that is been lost due to widespread wood- cutting. A staunch believer in Ayurveda, Gangal is also carrying out experiments about Panchagavya, Bhasmas, rasyanas etc. A thorough knowledge of Allopathic medicine ( was in pharma business) , Vedas ( is a sanskrit scholar) Kaka is an inspiring personality., very much like so many members at this forum. While at his place, we discussed about networking of serious Ayurveda practitioners. Can this idea be given a shot? May be a few of us, at least from Mumbai- Pune and those from parts, if willing to join, can get together at his place. Such a networking can be the foundation for many exciting possibilities. As I have clarified twice already, I might be wrong, but considering the seriousness of this group and the sincerity of almost all active members, thought it would be a good idea. I would love to hear your comments. ( even from those outside India, like Jane, Jag etc. )
Guest guest
Dear Rajubhaee, Very noble idea. Just don't let opportunistic people posing as Ayurvedists hijack this project. My full support to you.
