Guest guest
Dear All! I'm a new memeber of this group. I'm 23 years old. I went to donate my blood recently. They tested my blood and confirmed that I'm HIv +ve. I was collapsed, because, I was not involved in any immoral things. I.e, I belong to a very low risk category. I never had any sexual relations and I dint even receive blood. They tested for other deseases like Hepatitis, HCV, SGOT, SGPT. I got all -ve. But, the cd4 count is 284. I'm healthy now. I'm afraid of using ART drugs. They may cause lot of side effects. Hence, I decided to follow Ayurvedic medicine. I'll be moving to Chennai in 2 months. Could you please suggest me a good Vaidya in Chennai? I need to boost my immunity becasue I may get Opportunistic Infections. I dont have any bad habits like smoking and drinking. Please suggest me some food habits and medicines for this 2 months. As I can meet the Vaidya only after 2 months. Thanks & Regards -Sam. Guest guest
How did you get aids if you have never received blood or had sex? Are you sure it was indeed your blood? In India these mistakes can happen. samymic24 <samymic24 wrote: Dear All! I'm a new memeber of this group. I'm 23 years old. I went to donate my blood recently. Guest guest
These are the questions medical community has to answer, not ask. It is to be noted that being HIV+ does not mean one has AIDS. The person asking the immunity question is already scared and scare suppresses the immune system further! ayurveda , mandv m <mandakiniven wrote: > > How did you get aids if you have never received blood or had sex? > Are you sure it was indeed your blood? > In India these mistakes can happen. > > samymic24 <samymic24 wrote: > Dear All! > I'm a new memeber of this group. Guest guest
Also, it would be a good idea to retest because some tests do provide false positives and labs do make mistakes. I don't think it really matters how a person got HIV, just the question implies a sort of judgment of that person. If the second test is positive, then it might be a good idea to get the very close family tested also. There are reports of people getting infected from using others' razors or toothbrushes or other very close contact, also from dental work, tatoos, and perfectly innocent exposure to people from Haiti or Africa who are infected. If the speculation is true that people first got HIV from monkey meat, then there could be other ways of transmission that we are not sure of yet. Guest guest
If I may recommend that you look into the book Path of Practice, by Bri. Maya Tiwari. Starting on page 210 she talks about healing matras, a prayer to lord Shiva in the form of Rudra, to achieve freedom from disease and evoke spiritual healing. She also talks about diet and lifestyle changes that will help boost your overall immune system. There are many herbs, etc that will help as well, but when facing the uncertain we have to remember our mental status is as important as what we ingest to heal ourselves. Ayurveda is not only the use of herbs, but re-connecting with the universal energy to access the healing benefits and properties within us. I believe you said you were in India, but you can also visit her website at www.wiseearth.com, I can also recommend doctors at the International Academy of Ayurved, in Pune India. They are great Ayurvedic physicians that will assist the entire being. I have studied with them in America as well as India. If you need someone closer please contact them, they may have a reference in your area. ph: +91 20 2 422 4427, www.ayurved-int.com Peace and Blessings on your journey. The reason health care personnel emphasize the rarity of such transmissions is because people already panic over hiv related issues and the likelihood of transmission with casual contact is very very small. I don't think it is anything to be especially alarmed about, but it is good to be somewhat careful. The contact that seems to matter is blood to blood or blood to mucous membranes and the kinds of contacts I have mentioned do have that in common. The one to me that seems the most farfetched would be the eating of monkey meat, but zoonotic diseases are pretty common and when skinning the monkeys, there would probably be plenty of opportunities for transmission if the knife slipped or whatever. It would be like our western hunters sometimes get plague from handling squirrels.
